someone in my family buried a dead chicken in my basement and one at my aunts house. She also put a hairball around a picture in my grandmothers house, who she lives above of. What does this mean?

It means someone killed a cat causing it to chokeup the hairball because it had killed the chicken who is now buried along with the cat...

Just as a guess, I'd say that this was a Santeria thing, or Vodun.

Just say a prayer and focus on bouncing back the magic to her. There is a law in witchcraft that says anything you do comes back threefold. Good or bad!
