Can you also believe that Liviu Librescu would be in Hell right now? This is the professor who blocked the classroom door while his students went out the windows to safety. Liviu was killed by a bullet that went through the door.

But Liviu is also Jewish so we can assume that he did not believe in Jesus.

So if you believe that faith in Jesus is the only way to Heaven then explain where a man like this would be right now? And if you believe that he had to go to Hell because of his lack of faith - then please, sincerely, explain to me how that is Right or Just ?

He was one awesome guy. I don't believe in heaven. I was raised Christian but I am now an atheist. If there was such a place ( Heaven) Liviu would be there much quicker and to a much higher level than I would.

Think of it. He had a mental toughness from being a death camp survivor that few people will ever experience.

I don't understand it either. I chalk it up to be a boogeyman story that a couple of stupid kids took way too seriously about 2000 years ago, and sadly we're stuck with this. @ Mort: No. Not Hinduism. In Hinduism, one is judged by karma rather than faith. In other words, an atheist and a Christian and an agnostic and a bisexual or anything else all have the same chance of going to heaven as anyone else. I think the same is true for Buddhism, but I'm not sure.

This was a tradgedy and it is terrible that someone could do such a thing. I suppose, it is understandable when society determines that life has no meaning, to have meaning we must consume, and to gain power we must control others.

I am so thankful for anyone who did what they could to help in this situation, and I hope that Liviu is in a better place. For your information, it is not merely faith in Jesus that takes us to a better place (Read this a few times if you misunderstood me). Rather, it is the heart and will of God that God decides where a person will go after this life. Immediately after this life is not eternal bliss. Instead, it is the judgement. As Christians, we do know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to God except through Jesus. With this in mind, let's not put Jesus in our box and expect that he merely approves or disapproves who goes where with a simple wave of the wand. All we know is that we need to have faith. When we are enlighted to the path then we are obligated to the path. However, God is not obligated in anyway to conform to dictates by human kind. Instead, God will judge, God will allow, and God will separate who God chooses to separate. Whether we like it or not God is God and we are not. Our goal then is to seek the truth, and when we find the truth we are to make a decision. Only pondering the truth is a mistake and worthless.

I agree, he is to be thought of as a hero.

I believe that the people who died before Christ's ressurection rose with Him when He rose. Those that died after His ressurection are in a sort of holding pattern. Mormon's call it the Spirit World, Catholics call it purgatory, I think it's all the same thing. When He returns and has His Millenial Reign, then the everyone gets Judged, that's when everyone who has/will die will rise. Until this happens, their spirits are in the Spirit World. As a Mormon I have certain beliefs as to what happens there. They aren't secret, but this isn't the place/question to go into them. Let me just say that while there those who didn't believe in Christ in life may decide to change their minds. If they do, then they go to Heaven when ressurected. If they don't, then they don't. But we're taught that most will.

So, do I think this hero of a man will go to Hell - I don't know, that choice is still up to him. I hope not.
Do I think he is in Hell right now? No. We call where he is Spirit Prison. Within the Spirit World there is a Spirit Prison and a Paradise.
If he chooses to not change his mind while in the Spirit World, and when judged does not go to Heaven because of this choice (among many others) is that Right or Just? Yes. But let me say that it seems (from the VERY, VERY limited knowledge I have of him), that he will make it to Heaven, but for those who do not, it will take a LOT more than not having faith in Christ while alive to get them there.

Liviu Librescu was a hero in the truest sense of the word, according to the actions that you've described. He died a hero's death, and is to be honored as such.

I am a Christian, and I only believe what Jesus himself said. Jesus says in my Bible that he is the only way.

However, my Bible also tells of instances where Jesus was revealed to devout people that did not believe, at first.

So how can I say that the Messiah was not revealed to Liviu the moment that he died?

None of us can say. Therefore, none of us know where he currently is.

It is not right or just that anyone go to hell, and my Bible tells me that it is not God's will that ANY should perish, but that all should come into everlasting life.

God didn't send Jesus to punish people, He sent him to save people.

I agree...and who's to say if any of his students were Muslim? It is possible that this Jewish man may have sacrificed himself for a Muslim (or two). To me, THIS type of selfless act is what what living an honorable and righteous life is all about...if only people could take heed and realize that the goodness and the evil in the world comes from each one of us...not from some ethereal and absentee Being.

The guy is a hero, no doubt about it. His bravery is commendable. However, the Bible says that without faith in Christ it is impossible to enter heaven, as Jesus is the way the truth and the life. It is fair, because it is a choice everyone has to make, no one is forced to believe. It is just because God, our Creator, made us for His purpose- which is to love, trust and obey Him. God would be unjust if He didn't follow His rules.

God's ways are not your ways. His thoughts are higher than your thoughts. It's HIS heaven and HE has the right to say who can enter. He tells us what we must do to be saved and just BELIEVING is NOT all there is to it. James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."
KJV
The devils certainly won't be going to heaven and they believe. They know who God and His son are, but they do not obey His commands. The man may be considered a hero, but doing good deeds is not enough to take us to heaven if we don't appreciate the fact that Jesus came to this earth for the sole purpose of setting up His Kingdom (the Church) and giving His life for the sins of the world. He worked His whole life for the benefit of mankind. And God gave the best of heaven for an ungrateful race. It's not too much for them to ask that we obey what is commanded of us to be able to be called the sons of God. Romans 8:16-17 "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."
NKJV
Jesus was tortured for OUR sins, not His own. If we expect to inherit heaven alongside Him then we certainly have to except the sacrifice that He made to cover our sins with His sinless blood.

You seam to be stuck on this word belief, okay in The Holy Bible in James 2:19-20 satan himself believes and trembles belief is NOT enough its BE-LIVING that counts, "IF" you LOVE me [then] Keep my commandments, and by the way in John 5:28-28 Jesus the second member of The Godhead tells us there are two resurrections for the righteousness THEN after that the one for the wicked, but in Rev.20:6 we are told that the EFFECTS not the fire itself is eternal as it says in that verse about the second DEATH, but that even is FUTURE notice what Jesus said in Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Notice the even is future, and don't worry about this person your concerned about making or not be concerned about YOU making or not, find out more free bible lessons www.amazingfacts.org talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com

As a Muslim i believe he will go to Heaven, because in Islam you'll go to Heaven or hell by your works and deeds(and faith).

it's completely 'just' that people should be rewarded or punished for their works.

what if Hitler and many other murderers accepted Jesus as their savior? are they in Heaven now? what about all those people they killed?
