Methane is also called "natural gas" by the utilities and consumers. It is what the gas utilities supply.

Propane is extracted from separator liquid and pressurized. It is generally used where there is no natural gas utility.

Hydrogen is the most plentiful gas and is found in all organic compounds - including methane and propane.
