Fear is a great motivator or a surge of adrenaline or like a drug-induced hallucination where we let our emotions get the best of us. Instead of using sound thinking fortified by a genuine zeal or inspiration to do what is right we utilize anxiety or useless fear to influence our behavior and are sometimes swept away to an emotionalism regardless of the consequences .

Fear and a love of power. The more power you have, the less fear or at least that is how it is suppose to work. But fear can grow until even having all the power isn't enough. People don't understand this and because they don't they get caught up in a cycle of fundimentalism that hurts, kills and destroys them and every one and every thing that is good.

Perhaps it is because a person's beliefs are the most precious, personal thing he has.
Ask yourself...do atheists ever get "fanatical" over their faith...excuse me...lack of faith?

I think they become fanatical out of fear. They want to do everything possible to please their God and get into Heaven so they become crazy fanatics.

Hmmmmmm.....Could it be from ignorance and fear. Maybe from a primitive need to believe in absolutes. Maybe their knickers are just too tight?

in my life i have found it to be ignorance that makes people act that way. it is sorta like they are blinded by misguided information and act on it.
