It's a type of pizza, like pepperoni, except it's called Canadian. Assumably, it is also Canadian. :P

I belive youve been getting a pizza with Canadian bacon which is not bacon as your used to but a ham like on an egg Mcmuffin
Its also sold on Hawain pizzas often which could be made with pizza or barbeque sauce. If iis placed on top of the cheese it can get very crispy like pepperoni

We don't have Canadian pizza in Canada. We call it Hawaiian. My experience is it is Americans who call it Canadian. We also don't put Canadian Bacon on it - we put ham and pineapple. And the second most popular name for it is.................ham and pineapple.

I had a similar experience in Greece. I ordered a Greek Salad. I got a smart answer that why would they call it a Greek Salad when all the food was Greek. I was brought a "House salad" that mysteriously looked and tasted a lot like a Greek salad.

I am a Canadian. There is no such thing as "Canadian pizza" here. But one of the biggest chains is Boston Pizza, which has no stores I am told in Boston.
