Well, you're in the Hunting section here so you're going to find some kindred spirits. The anti-hunters usually jump on right away when your post is on the main home page, so by now you're probably not go to hear any counter posts.
I've found all kinds of anti-hunters usually don't have a clue about nature. They don't understand that whitetail or coyote overpopulations are terrible on the beasts and that they suffer more when allowed to breed unchecked.
These folks usually get their knowledge of wild animals from Disney cartoons and they see humans as "bad" and animals as "good".
The Media and Hollywood have presented this perspective for so many years now, it's become generations now that many Americans have not known nature other than a vacation to Yellowstone for a few days.
Also, a large majority of the coastal urban and suburban populations of our country have a negative view of people that live in less populated rural areas.....the people that tend to hunt more as a group.
You know the stereotype...I don't need to spell it out for you. It's beyond the jokes or a funny family from a TV show...... it's damaging, devisive and hateful, not to mention outright bigotry.
Yet, in a world overly sensitive to anything mildly offensive to any other racial, ethnic, religious or 'gender' group, it's perfectly "P.C." to malign rural people, small town people, red-staters, Christians and.....hunters via this Bigotry.
I don't think we will ever see eye to eye with these folks. I get into discussions probably more than I should, as I tend to like to hear myself talk way too much and I'm passionate about the topic.
I've found that if you are respectful, calm, confident and reasonable in your arguments, you can at least walk away maybe not changing any minds, but perhaps changing a few perceptions about who hunters are. It's the best you can hope for most days.
Good luck and good hunting!

All of my friends that are hunters will jump at the chance to defend their hunting rights as well as their ethics in hunting. This group of guys are aware of what bad publicity can do for a hunting club.We all take pride in making clean humane kills. We also take pride in using what we harvest each year. Many times some of the guys will have extra tags that were not filled because they chose not to kill more than they needed. Our group sets standards that all the members must abide by.There are times when we have to dispatch a sick animal or remove a dead carcass from the road way because of being hit by a vehicle. We to have been accused of different things in the past but we work with the land owners and community to help show what kind of people we are.We try to educate some of these negative people by showing them what good things come out of hunting. There are several low income families in our area that survive because of game animals we harvest and contribute to these people. This isn't what we call charity but rather a means of survival for the less fortunate.

Hunting is a way of life for me, I work in wildlife, and I partake in the harvesting of the animals for the meat. It is the best renewable resource for protein. Humainly putting down an animal that has mange or rabies is a huge help to the wildlife and the people. I'm sure people don't want to get rabies and don't want their pets getting it or even mange. And if we don't keep managing these animals these diseases will overrun us. Hence the problems people are having with coyotes in the suburbs, they don't allow trapping to control the population and therefore may be missing a couple cats!

searching is surely extra humane than you will possibly think of. The animals are not 'harm' or 'wounded', the assumption is to take them as at as quickly as and painlessly as accessible, and to honor their existence via putting their bodies to good use, like nutrition. With a bow it incredibly is somewhat harder to get an instant kill shot. Any hunter with any own integrity enable you to realize the comparable, letting an animal go through is the final component you want. As for ideas to searching stay animals, animal shaped targets are a good determination.
