Zuker - so treating others badly because they don't follow your lead and telling others that they are condemned because they aren't exactly like you is a good thng?? Sorry, I don't buy it.

I think it is because they dont know what the true meaning of being born again means and they are still wallowing in their sin. My opinion.

It isn't that a lot of people who claim to be "born again" Christians are narrow-minded jerks. Like almost every other group of people, the people we hear about the most are the ones who have an ax to grind or are way out on the fringes of what most of the group would find as acceptable conduct. In reality, there are probably just as many narrow-minded jerks who claim to be "born again" as narrow-minded jerks who claim to be atheists. There are many people who choose to rage against Christians. There are many people who choose to rage against homosexuals. There are many people who choose to rage against intellectuals. What defines people as narrow-mind jerks is that they rage without thought to those they might hurt. They are driven more by being right then by presenting what they believe to be right in such a manner that it welcomes others into the discussion. Rarely, is superiority or sarcasm or insult going to be persuasive. However, those actions attract more attention, and therefore, there seem to be more who live in those camps.

Most people are narrow minded. Born agains just happen to be more annoying than most. They are very excited about a new belief, and that belief discourages thinking for yourself, and encourages spreading the "word".. So they just seem more narrow minded because they are "In your face".

Some people feel that thier opinion is correct and don't want to hear anything else. I feel that my opinoins are right....but they're just opinons. I believe what the Bible says, and that's that. But I also think I can learn from other people and what they have to say, as long as it doesn't contradict God's Word.

Here are the fruits of the Spirit - evidence of being "born again": love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control. If we don't see that fruit in our lives, then we are not "born again."

Of course, leave some room for poor decisions, since we are still sinners. ;)

Some people feel that they can act anyway and treay people anyway that they feel like doing so. Don't pay people like that too much mind.

We appear narrow minded to you, because our focus is staying on that narrow way that the bible says leads to righteousness. We want desperately to lead others away from the "broad way" that leads to destruction. Just because something is widely accepted doesn't make it right.
