My skin has got burnt which feels itchy when I touch. I feel the urge to scratch the entire region hardly. What should I do?

Its scorching summer at my place. The power supply here is also erratic, so staying put inside ACs/Coolers is not possible always. Since I am into a marketing job, I need to venture out in the sun anyways. I use my mobike to travel, dont use air-conditioned car as it is costly.

Please suggest some remedies including home-made remedies. I tried applying those 'cool' talcum powders, but the condition has not improved much. Do I need to consult a dermatologist? Or what?

Help!!!!!

Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion is the only thing on the Planet which made my itching abate. Find what works for you, and never be caught without it.

Use Aloe Vera. It will cool your skin and take the itchiness away - the reason your skin itches is because it is healing. Also try exfoliating in the shower to get rid of the dead skin, it will start to peel but if you start the process now it will not look as bad. Use sun screen for now on when out side. Also in the future use a lotion with a sun screen in it to help your skin build up protection from being burned in the future.

Good luck!

Various methods of cooling are probably the best for the itching. But I would suggest that you keep out of the sun as much as possible and give up on the idea of getting a beautiful tan and keep yourself covered up. Sun block is probably good. The thing is that I hear often that there is an epidemic of skin cancer here in the U.S. and the burns you get when you are young are what is responsible for the skin cancers you get 20 - 30 years later. Believe me, those years go by quicker than you think.

Use Aloe Vera jell (sold at drug stores) immediately takes away pain of burn, not sure about itching.Use a high sunscreen or wear a hat, they have sunscreen in 30 or higher. You should be ok in a day or so,I don't think you need to go to the doctor unless maybe you blister up.
