The most common image on an angel is essentially a human being with wings. This is not Biblical. The Bible often presents angels as appearing as human beings. However, this does not indicate that angels in their essence resemble human being. Further, the Bible vary rarely describes angels as having wings. However, there are definitely two types of angels mentioned in the Bible that have wings: (1) Cherubim (Exodus 25:20; Ezekiel 10), (2) Seraphim (Isaiah 6). Cherubim and Seraphim are two types of angels, possibly the two highest orders of angels. So, this much is clear, some angels do have wings.

All angels do not have wings. Seraphim have 6 wings and Cheribim have 4 wings. For most of the others there are not specific designations of wings. These 2 types (in spite of being non-physical beings) will obviously be subject to this planet's gravity when they return with Christ.

You are absolutely right!
It was the holy garment which is formally called the tallit with the tzitzit on the boarders. These holy garments were commanded by Yahweh to worn by those who worship and serve Him.

some angels, like cherubim and ceraphim have wings (they're physical spiritual creatures, so wings are needed) but there are different kinds of angels. so maybe some don't have wings, like the ministering angels or the ones that look like humans.
and apparently because there were different types of angels (some musicians, some bowers, some fighters, etc) demons kept those traits, so you have imps (those little mindless ones that just make you lose your mind), demons (those who have more control over your will) and devils (those that actually excerisze control and possess certain abilities). but still, an angel is more powerful than a demon.

Actually there is a historical explanation for this. When the Hebrews were conquered and captivated by the Babylonians, the Jews incorporated much of the Babylonian culture which included the images of winged divine beings. After the Jews were set free, they had already incorporated many Babylonian cultural images and ideas into their own culture.

There are different types of created spiritual beings..angels. The Bible actually describes some as having wings. Other times it talks of angels & infers they look like men. I've always thought they could alter their appearance somewhat for the task at hand.....that's pure specualtaion, though.

Because the bible says that they have wings. Maby its for another purpose beyond your understanding... Science is very young, and NOTHING in science can be proven "beyond a reasonable doubt".
When we get to heaven we will find out that science and religion tie in as one. Read the book "Angles and Demons" by Dan Brown (author of the DaVinci Code) Its a really good book for this topic.

Angels don't have Wings. God made man in HIS image and
the angels likeness . Who was GOD talking to? The angels.
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So if i am made in the "likeness" of GOD and the Angels. Then i don't have Wings and neither do they!

Well I used to picture them on pogo sticks but it just got silly. Then I thought it was really cool if they flew around with jet packs, but then I saw the movie "Black Belt Jones."
But ultimately what I wanna know is not why they have wings, but why the hell do they need to carry harps.
