I've been eating really really healthy -- lots of fruit + veggies and soups and low fat, high fiber foods. Normally I cheat a lot in my eating and eat pastries or chocolate bars or ice cream but I've been religious in my nutrition for 5 days. Wasn't expecting to LOSE a ton of weight in this short period -- but I really can't understand why in the world I would have GAINED 2.5 pounds. Worked out once. Should do that more, but still... my food intake is far better than it used to be. I must be eating 500 less calories a day than normal -- aiming for about 1200-1400. Any words of wisdom appreciated.

Try increasing your water to flush your body.
Watch the sodium level in your soups--some are very high.
Are you getting enough protein? Are you eating 4-6 small meals each day?
Your calorie count is good--don't go below 1100.

Be patient with this. Usually in the 1st week the scale shows a big dip, usually from water weight. I think you should increase your water, increase your activity and continue to watch what you eat. It WILL work!☺
