I once asked a question to Christians asking that if I were sinless in every way, but was not religious, would I go to heaven....everyone of you said I would go to hell

So would you same people think this guy deserves heaven if he was, in fact, a religious man that just snapped?

I am not a religious person but I do believe that if there is in fact a heaven and a hell, the shooter is in hell and a sinless - though not religious person would go to heaven.

You don't go to heaven for being "religious" So, the answer is no...he committed murder of many innocent people.

He could be forgiven, yes, but he would have to be truly repentant...and I can't imagine that he was since he took his own life. I mean he would have had to want to kill these people and within seconds have been truly repentant just before he killed himself...that is very unlikely.

As for your other statement...that if you were sinless in every way...etc. First of all you cannot be sinless because you are not God. It' s impossible for a human being to be sinless. If you just mean being a really good person, helping the poor, doing charity work, and so forth. That's all very nice, but has nothing to do with being saved and following God. It just makes you a very nice person.

No, he is not...he's in his grave. The common grave of mankind,Sheol. Also, the Scriptures says you, 'the soul (life energy/force) goes back to God' in that manner, you could say we r in heaven. But not w/ heavenly bodies, wings of an angel etc...
U said 'deserves heaven' NOT a 1 of us sinners 'deserves' heaven. And n/eways the Scriptures say that once u have tasted death, u have paid for ur sins.Romans 6:7
"The wages sin pays is death" Romans 6:23
As for ur former Q,which I didn't see previously;
U can not be sinless in every way, or anyway; we all inherited sin from our foreparents, we can't escape it.
So it wouldn't matter if u were religious or not. U r still human...mortal & u may die;1 day.
So to say u'd definately go to ur grave=hell, it's a strong possiblity. But also, there's a possibility u won't. Only God can judge u. Not other sinners.

From a religious point of view, and moreover catholic - God is the only one that can take a human life as he is the one that created it. God has the absolute dominion over human life. That's why suicide and murder are deathly sins.

As to your question "if I were sinless in every way, but was not religious, would I go to heaven" I say yes you would.
I firmly believe that God does not care if you are catholic, protestant, orthodox, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, atheist or anything. I have seen many people that claim to be religious but commits sins and expect to be absolved just because they think their religion is the right one. I think that God cares that you live your life as a good person

This is a great mystery. A lot of people are going to be surprised when they get to Heaven and see how many people are there.
Christ gave himself for the sinners, because there was no other acceptable sacrifice for sin.
Who of us actually deserves such a reward as a home in Heaven?
Remember the Apostle Paul was a murderer before he was changed.
Where sin abounds, grace does much more abound.

I would disagree with anyone who told you that. My only advice for you - if ANYBODY tells you they know whether you are going to heaven or not, they are full of it. Unless they are God, they have no idea.

Most don't know anymore than their 'minister' has told them to believe and wouldn't step away from the religion and try to decide something for themselves. Nobody is completely free from sin, and why some think that being 'religious' makes a difference in God's love is beyond me. Religious means a lot of different things to different people. But I'm sure those same people would tell you that if you weren't part of THEIR religion, you're damned anyway.

I feel sorry for every victim of the VA Tech massacre - and I feel bad for the shooter and his family. How horrible for all of those families. :(

Who knows why or what happened with him, but I believe one thing to be true. God loves all of us equally and we are here to learn. I can't imagine what the lessons would be from this, but I still believe that there must be some.

I think we all go to the same place when we pass - future lessons depend (there and here) depend on what we need to grow spiritually.

You must ask for forgiveness in order to receive it. This man killed himself and it is therefore impossible for him to ask for forgiveness for that. You ask for forgiveness and mean it in your heart after you sin. You cannot ask God to forgive you for a sin that you are about to commit, because if you can do that you can choose to not commit the sin.

To part "b" of your question, the only sinless man is Jesus. And you can't be sinful or sinless and not be religious. The two don't mix. If you are not religious what is sin to you?

Sorry, honey, but the Christian theology says that we are all born sinners. So there is no way for any one to be sinless. Especially if you read Jesus' definition on sins.

A "religious" man, no. A forgiven man, yes. But he shot himself that doesn't really show that he felt much hope.

But I'm not saying he's in Hell, that's God's call not mine. Doesn't look hopeful though, sorry.

I find it interesting that you would even asked this question. For one thing his family is Budist - NOT Christian - for another thing - He WAS involved in SIN when he was killing all of those people (thou shalt not kill) and he Killed himself - the uliment! How could one person ask the Lord for forgiveness after giving himself a 'Fatal Shot"!

The Lord is One Way - the Road is "Narrow" how can this man see the Glory of God in Heaven with what he did - 33 DEAD and possibly more on the way??????!!!!!

Please think about it.

Take Care and God Bless!

Listen - try to understand this. We are ALL sinners - we are born into sin - you cannot live a sinless life - no one can. Only Jesus was sinless - no one else.

The only Way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ and Him alone - it is not a question of good or bad - a lot of good people will go to Hell and a lot of bad people will go to Heaven - that is a fact.

It is black and white - if you have accepted Jesus Christ as the Son of God - turned from your sin and self - putting all your trust in Jesus - you WILL be saved. If you have not - you will go to Hell - black and white - no gray areas here.

If this person was a Christian - but I believe he was not because if a person has the Holy Spirit they are trying to keep the commandments of God and one of those is Do Not Kill - so I believe he was Muslim or something like that and demon possessed - but if by some stretch of the imagination he was as Christian - yes he is in Heaven - not because you don't like it but because he had accepted God's Son Jesus - the Only Way to Heaven. Another thing too - if you accept Jesus - you are still a sinner - we are just striving to be Christ-like - trying to live a life that glorifies God and Jesus - but we are STILL sinners - still do things wrong - the same as you. So please try to digest this - try to understand this - a lot of GOOD people will go to HELL and a lot of BAD people will go to HEAVEN - try to digest this PLEASE!!!!

Salvation - Eternal Life - only happens when we accept Jesus Christ's payment for our SIN - No other way to Heaven -Jesus Christ ALONE!!!!! Blessings.
