I most certainly agree with you. I have already been praying for both the victims in this horrible incident and for the family of the young man responsible for this tragedy. My heart goes out to this young mans mom and dad and the rest of his family. Not only do they have the heart ache of what has happened, they will also suffer the consequences. Which in my mind is so unfair on their part. People can and will be cruel and heartless towards them. This poor family will be judged by their son's and brother's mistake. May our good Lord give them strength.

I agree, and it may take some time, but I bet that some of the victim's families will probably go to the killer's family and say they are sorry for their loss. It is such a sad time, and no one should be forgotten. The answer is yes to your first question.

For those who pray, I think it's good to remember that the shooter's family is not responsible for his actions. They have suffered a loss, too. Kudos to you all for your thoughtfulness and compassion.

That's an unsubstantiated assumption on your part. We don't yet know what the shooting was all about. We may never know. It may be that the shooter had a psychotic break that had nothing whatsoever to do with his upbringing.

I agree, I think we should pray. The killer's south korean family is dealing with as much sadness as the victim's family. They all need prayer.

A agree. We should pray for them. They might not know why this happened either. Just think of how they must be feeling. They might have more unanswered questions than the rest of us. They are also going to be bombarded with people trying to get those answers.

Of course...it's not like the family for friends of the killer should be punished.
In any case, a person is a person. Whether that person does bad things or good things...in the end it was still a living person and we should be compassionate if not sorrowful.

well, what's done is done. Prayers are not going to bring the dead back!
we need to be a better society and be respectful of all cultures, race, sexual orientation and such.
There is nothing that can be done now that the 30 are dead but be strong and learn to deal with this in a better way.
It's horrible that our society has to encounter menatally crazy people like this man!

I'm wondering if they even know yet? But yes, they probably didn't know how deeply he was gone. Most families don't know when a loved one is about to do something this terrible. But I think they should be remembered. I'm pagan and normally wouldn't push my prayer or energy on someone who didn't know I was doing it, but I think they need it just as much as everyone else.

I don't believe in God or prayer but there was obviously something off with this man. His family deserves the same respect to grieve losing a loved one as the rest.
