There are 4 ways of dealing with camera shake.
Option one is Imgage Stabilization. This technology is either built into your camera/ lens, or it isn't. With the A550 it isn't - so we can forget about that option.
Option two is a tripod. That's one of those three-legged stands. They have a screw on top so you can bolt your camera solidly in place. But even when you fold them down, those tripods are big and unpleasant to work with. You could consider a small table-top model. Moving right along...
Option 3 is to use the flash. The built-in flash only works up to 15 feet, so that won't be practical at all times.
Option four is to use camera settings to increase the shutter speed. You'd want to do a combination of the following things:
* use a high ISO. Crank it all the way up, if you have to. The down side of using a high ISO is that your pictures become grainy. So use high ISO only when you need it.
* use a large aperture. The A550 doesn't have an aperture-priority mode, but you can achieve the same result by using the right scene mode. My guess is that you have something like a sport mode. Try that.
Best wishes!

Well if you want to stop camera shake then dont move your hands. Its not the camera that is doing it, the camera is a dumb device it only does what you tell it to do. A tripod offers stability to eliminate shaking or moving I would invest in one if you find that your hands are not sturdy. Any camera store will have a tripod.
