For all you anti immigrant history buffs.....Christopher Columbus "founded" the new land. (USA) Columbus was from Spain! His ships incase you all forgot where the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. All spanish names. So is it so hard to respect our founder by opening our borders to other cultures?

He was from Italy but spain sent him here. Spain owned Italy at the time Skippy!!!!
The signers of the declaration of Independence indeed founded the United States of America....but they did NOT find this land.
I agree the native Americans owned this land before any of us!!!

Don't even try to get any points across about Spanish speaking people on this forum. We have so many ignorant people who cry and whine about mexicans taking their jobs but THEY don't want to go do the back breaking work on farms. But yet cry about the price or unavailablity of produce. They talk about supporting the war and giving Iraqi's freedom but yet hate our neighbors. And to be realistic how many terrorists crossed from Mexico? They either came here legally or came down from Canada. So put that in your pipe people and SMOKE IT !

Columbus was Italian and he didn't found the United States of America. He didn't even land in what is today the USA. The founders of our country were the signers of the Declaration of Independence and their supporters among the citizenry at that time.
Not only that, the Vikings were in what is now New England before Columbus sailed and the Chinese were in what is now California before that.
Pay closer attention in history class skippy, before you lecture the rest of us about it.

Columbus was from Italy, and the ships were Spanish. The Vikings landed on the shores of New Foundland, North America, which they called "Vinland".
So, let's give credit to Italy and Norway. Get your history and spelling right.

Actually, there were some people here before it was "discovered". That's like saying "I discovered your wallet in your pocket".
