I have had Picasa for 3 years now and have been delighted with it. Now istarted freezing every time I try to open it so I can't use it or any of my photos.I have to close to PC completely before I can get back into any other programs. I can't download new photos into it. I have most of my photos in PIcasa, so I am rather upset. It is Picasa 2. Please help.

your personal case may be due to your small computer ram.
Picasa requires at least 128mb ram, i suggest 256mb better, or you running many programmes at same time or having virus in your computer.
I also very pleased using Google Picasa, great photo software ever made.
it's cool to view and edit pictures on your computer, also making slidshows or pictures cds with Picasa

I have used Picasa 2 for 3 years and never had a problem. They have a really good "Help" section with online answers and their own Q & A from other users.

Try that. It could be some new program you have added or some other simple glitch.

Picasa is so trouble free that I doubt if it is their package but it would be worth trying their help tools anyway.

Good luck.

Hey Mellisa,

I have used it too. I am not happy with the catalog that it keeps. The pictures are actually stored in a Windows directory, so you can still get to them. You should find them, and back them up onto DVD Data, or CD Data disks. I would UNINSTALL Picasa and see if the new one is available on the internet.

The catalog gets lost for some reason, I will not pretend to know. So, if you want to keep it, then just reload it.

Make sure there is enough available space, delete a few of the pictures in it if you can. If this fails uninstall and then reinstall. If this fails, uninstall and delete, then re-download from a different Mirror.
