find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

Absolutely. I'm diabetic, and by eating 3 small meals plus three snacks every day, it keeps my blood sugar regular, but it has one other advantage. If you don't eat for a long period of time, you make your body think it's starving, and it shuts down your metabolism. By feeding your body almost continuously, it avoids that response, and you continue to metabolize food. Make sure they're fairly small meals, though--I get a total of 7 oz. of meat a day, 3 fruits, 7 servings of carbohydrates (15 carbs each--check your labels), 2 milk servings (8 oz. of lowfat milk or yogurt) , 2 servings of vegetables (1/2 cup cooked or 1 cup raw), and 3 servings of fats (6 grams each). In addition, drink all the water you can, and make use of "free" foods, like sugar-free hard candies and gum. I've been losing about 1-1 1/2 pounds a week without really trying, and I get so full I have to force myself to eat some of the snacks.

Its supposed to. Its all about portion. 6 small portions a day is easier and faster to digest than 2 huge meals a day. This gives your body time to process all of the food and not just leave fat behind. As long as its not 6 burger king kids meals a day and you try to eat More veggies and fruits then you are good to go :) Of course you want to do some type of running or cardio exercises to speed up the process

Yes, it does. It speeds up metabolism, keeps your blood sugar level, and reduces hunger.
Here's the catch - for your small meals, you get 1 portion of protein, 1 portion of carbs, and 1 green leafy veggie, and that's it. You eat every 2.5 to 3 hours. A portion is the size of your fist, and that's all.
I eat 6 times per day, Lost over 30 pounds so far, continuing to lose. It takes discipline, but it works, and if you use protein shakes (they taste good now), can be very easy.

Yes. It has worked for me. I have little snacks every 2 hrs or so during the day. Helps me at regular meal times to eat smaller portions and single servings. I just had two rice cakes and some OJ. That will tide me over till diner.

Yes, it does have to be smaller meals though, you cant use this as an excuse to eat 4-6 big meals. It speeds up your metabolism since you are constantly feeding your body nutrients that it needs, but only what it needs and not excess, in which it turns to fat.
You have to eat good foods for this to work.

Yes it works. however, your meals must be healthy and small, consisting of low carbohydrates. higher protein it will keep your metabolism working , if you go for long periods without eating and then eat a large meal your body will store it . it's nature's way of protecting your body as if there was a famine. Good Luck with your research!

yes but they have to be truly small meals, more like large snacks. I just finished a nutrition class if you follow the food pyramid and eat stuff out of that your body will be constantly be burning energy instead of just 3 times where it has larger portions that it spends all day trying to burn that fuel.
another VERY important part of it is to excercise.
