To spay a female is a more expensive surgery then neutering a male as it is a more expensive envasive surgery. Basically you are looking at $50 - $100 more for a female to be fixed.

It would depend on where you live and the vet but generally, neutering is much less expensive than spaying.
Spaying can be anywhere from $200-250 at a vet's office. Neutering is about $150. Spaying is much more invasive than neutering.
Shelters and low cost spay/neuter clinics can usually do a spaying for $50 or so, again, depending on where you live and the prices the shelter sets. It's best to call locally to get pricing.

It is usually about $10 or so more to spay a female than it is to neuter a male. Call your vet and find out. Where I live it is about $40 - $60 depending on the size of the dog. Plus if the female is pregnant it will cost more.

Differs depeding on where you live. In my town they have what they call the S.N.A.P. (spay neuter assistance program) and you go to your local shelter and they give you a certificate to get it fixed for free or very cheap. We also have a spay enuter clinic that is very cheap compared to vets offices but that is all they do there is spay and neuter animals. It is about 1/4-1/2 the price of the vets offices. You may want to check and see if there are programs like that in your area. Just call your local animal control or aspca and ask them they will be more than happy to answer any question for you. Glad you are being a responsible pet owner. Hope this helps.

Most of the time it is more expensive to spay a female dog than it is to neuter a male. Reason being is that the surgery is more invasive for the female. They have to actually open up her abdomen and take out her uterus. For the male they don't have to open them up and are just able to make a small incision and snip, tie, snip, tie. Much easier. Unless, your dog has a cryptorchid testicle that has not descended into his scrotum. THen they have to open his abdomen to go find it.
It depends on the hospital also how much one or the other would cost. I'm just guessing but I would say starting as low as around $160 for neutering but maybe ~$200 for spaying. The best thing to do is just call around and ask in your area. You will get a range of different prices. Then you can pick and choose for yourself.

You spay a female
You neuter a male
There is no spay vs. neuther for any individual puppy.
Prices vary from place to place.
I'm in a very rural area.
I paid $75 for my large breed female dog, $60 for my large breed male dog, $50 for my medium size male dog.
I also had to leave the dogs overnight after surgery so the vet could make sure the dog could pee post-op all right. I believe that was an added $8.
I'd expect your prices could easily be higher.

Gosh. I wish I knew where to get a dog spayed for $50.
So, you know that "spay" refers to the sterilization procedure for females and "neuter" to the procedure for males... right?
Generally it is less expensive to have a male neutered because it doesn't involve abdominal surgery.

First of all, spay and neuter are the same thing. You spay a female, and neuter a male. If you are wanting it done cheaply, check your local humane society and see if they offer clinics for it. They often do so cheaply, simply because of the overpopulation of animals.
