I completely agree with you! I was shocked that a guy with only two hand guns was able to kill that many people. I thought the guy must have had an uzi or AK-47 to harm so many people. Especially considering there are always some type of armed police around college campuses.
I think the main reason he was able to kill so many people is because he locked the doors shut so that no one could get in or out. Also, it sounds like there was only one exit for the classrooms and the students had no where to go except out the window.
Last, I completely agree that I don't mean to offend anyone by answering so bluntly and feel awful for the people in that community and their families.

It sounds like he was walking down hallways and through crowded rooms- he was probably in pretty close. I know it's macabre, but I was wondering the same thing yesterday. According to the news, he chained the doors shut, and calmly picked people off on the stairwell. He didn't look all that imposing, and if he wasn't enraged and waving the weapon wildly, then people probably didn't know he was the shooter- they may have run right into him without recognizing the danger.

I completely see where you are coming from. I was inclined to think he was in there with a couple fully automatics, machine guns or something, you know, Scarface style...
It's amazing to me that he managed to kill at least 33, and wound some 20+ others, all with semiautomatic handguns, and wasn't killed or thwarted in the process earlier! I can't believe someone else there didn't have a gun and stop this before it got so out of control...

Easy! Not allowing people with a valid concealed weapons permit to carry on campus assured that the killer would meet no resistance. An armed citizen could have taken him out before so many people died.

From details given by the medical teams, the killer was vicious. None of victims has less than 3 or 4 gunshot wounds each.

I have been wondering some of the same. I am prior Army too. Some of us veterans at work have been talking. Where were the guys like on Flight 93 who said "We're going to do something." Scarey, sad... all at the same time.

well seems like you think a 22 caliber can't do much damage wrong I could do just as much damage with one as a 44 mag. and I would imagine he had more rounds for reloading the 9mm , so your theory is wrong

Bearing in mind this was a crowded college campus and it would not have been difficult to find potential victims, I think the actions speak for themselves!
It's very sad that some in society have such little regard for others lives!
Best wishes!

As a Police Officer, your not too familiar with the rounds. All bullets are deadly. It's easy to kill someone if they have no place to go, or they don't know they're about to be killed. He was a student.
