Hello All, Can someone please tell me does it matter if you fry your foods in corn oil, vegetable oil, or blended oil??? If so, what is the difference???

The type of oil used for frying foods does matter because each oil has a smoke point. Oils w/ a low smoking point will burn faster and give the food an off taste. (example- extra virigin olive oil).

Oils w/ a high smoke point will w/stand the heat & give the foods a "cleaner" flavor.
ex) peanut oil
Alton Brown from the Food Network recommends Crisco shortening because it is highly refined.
