Not all acounts placed in collections are reported to the credit bureau. You will need to either call the collection agency or write them a letter requesting whatever information you need. Ignoring their letters or calls, is the worst thing you can do. That will only escalate the situation. They will try and contact you for a certain about of time and if they are unable to contact you, the might try to contact you at work or might try and contact your neighbors for a better contact number.
However, some larger agencies do have websites where as long as you have their account number you can view your past due invoices.

All you have to do is pull your credit report. Pull one from all three bureaus (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion). Their websites are their names.com. It will show all of the collection accounts being reported.
The key word, of course is reported. If the debts are more than seven years old, they won't show up on your credit report. You may need to contact the original creditor (instead of the collection agencies) and find out how much the debt was when they sold it to someone else.
Good luck!
