Yes, you are right. If you love someone you love everything about them, faults included. I ******* hate when people say that about gay people. You can't be a true friend to a gay person if you think they are sinning. GUESS WHAT Christians, it's not a sin

Actually, let me put it to you this way. Example....You have born to think that being gay is the worst thing ever, you were raised to believe that being Gay is the sin that would surely send you straight to Hell. You were also brought up in a family where you loved your mother and father and they loved you so much. You always got along, you became the best of friends after high school. Then you father died, and after the morning period passed your mom came up to you and said Honey i have something to tell you I am gay. What do you do? You hate the Sin, but still love your mom right? That is of course the extreme but it is an example. The sin is what is bad not necessarily the person.

Its because the human race is according to the epistles corrupted, so sin is part of the way things are. So everyone sins, even if some people's are much worse.
As christians we are saved through Christ. Which means Christ had to pay the price for our shortcoming against an absolutely perfect standard - a very costly payment.
There is probably a chance that people who still are not believers in Christ will respond, and receive grace from Him, so their sins are forgiven. If we just hate them, they usually get harder, even if their behaviour is awful. Giving them mercy is showing them grace that might encourage them to seek God one day. And God has said that He will apply justice on Earth at times.
We can't in general know if they will one day respond.
It may seem they are getting away with it, but the "second death" will be so bad that it wouldn't be worth having all the Sultan of Brunei's, Bill Gates's, Roman Abramovic's and Warren Buffet's combined wealth during one's short earthly life.

I don't think that is a Bible statement or even a Bible principle, and God clearly hates the sinner. Psalm 5:4 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with You. 5 The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do iniquity. 6 You destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit." I think it is pretty hard to separate the two. It is not our place to judge others as God does because we do not know all the factors involved. Our job is to present the message of Jesus Christ.

No you are not right. The bible instructs us to love people and try to tell them about the plan of salvation. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all come to the Lord. God hate all sin and as His children we should hate all sin also. The bible explains that we were all sinners and in need of a savior.

No, you should not hate anyone. I know it sounds crazy, but hey I was raised not to hate people. My mama told me to Hate the sin, not the sinners. She told me that everyone sins, and if I hated all sinners, well that would be everyone. I guess you have to be open minded to get the picture. I get made at people sometimes for the things they do, but I don't hate them. Hate is a strong word and it should be used carefully.

I swear I never heard this phrase until the Christian community was put on the defensive for the first time about homosexuality and it was dredged up trying to explain that Christians didn't hate homosexuals, just that they disobey God by how they have sex.
What I bunch of hooey. You can't hate someone for what they do and feel the sweet love of baby Jesus for the person doing it.
I'm with Bill Mahrer on this one. The though of hairy-man-b**t sex is upchucking disgusting to me. So is putting anchovie on pizza. Laws should not be a matter of personal taste. Taboos should not be a matter of personal taste. And burning in hell forever should not be a matter of personal taste.
I don't make any hypocritical claim to love everyone. I don't think everyone is worth loving. I certainly don't claim to love serial killers, terrorists, rapists, pederasts and wife beaters, but "hate their sin." I hate 'em for what they do and I'm not covering it up.

God hates sinners. You are an enemy of God. But it is conditional. God also loves sinners and his son died for us. If you accept Jesus, you are no longer condemned by God.
If a criminal came to you and asked you to bring him to a hospital because he was dying, would you refuse? Of course you won't, even if he's a criminal you love him enough to carry him to the hospital. But... you will also call the cops because it is the right thing to do.
In the same way you can love a criminal by helping him, you are also reporting him to the cops.
For God, it's the same thing. He loves sinners so he sent His son to save them. But his punishment still hangs for those who reject him.

ask me too many Christians love the sin, it gives them an excuse to play God and judge. I may be mistaken, but as far as I know "Hate the sin, not the sinner" is not in the bible anywhere, but "love thy neighbor as thy brother" is

No, you're not right!
If that were true then you'd be telling the world to hate you because you are a lesbian. As Christians we believe that homosexulaity is a sin. Should we hate you for commiting that sin? No!
Should we hate someone for fornicating?... the majority of the world does it... no, that makes no sense at all!
We may not like the sin you commit, but we're not going to hate you for being human and imperfect!
