Great question. You bring up interesting points. What you first said, about other teachers saying the same things that Jesus said-a Christian friend told me years ago"all truth is Gods truth". Certainly Jesus expressed some thoughts that may have been expressed by others which are universally true. The thing to remember is that Jesus spoke only the words that His heavenly Father directed Him to speak. Also, Jesus was without sin. Therefore, He could not speak a falsehood. Its not accurate, as I understand what you've said, to say that salvation was not achieved by Jesus being sacrificed. Since the Bible makes it clear over and over again that there must be the shedding of blood and loss of the life of the sacrificed as payment for sins, Jesus sacrifice was certainly necessary. I understand what you say I think in that His resurrection was the testimony as to His claim of Messiahship, and His being raised from the dead allows us to be raised to newness of life. His resurrection was the seal of His Messiahship. Lastly, the first and greatest commandment is to "love the LORD your' God with all your heart....". On the other hand, we must "work out our salvation with fear and trembling...". Deuteronomy 5:22-29 illustrates the concept of a healthy fear of God quite well; and by the same token, the apostle John simply says that in His essence, God is love, and love is from God.

Jesus died after passover, the story of his ressurection three days later did not not get entangled with "Easter" until about 6 centuries later. Then it was entangled with a pagan ritual for Estare' [her Babylonian name was Istar] a goddess of love, and fertility (who did have the symbols of rabbits and eggs in her worship), but the big traditions of the bunny delivering eggs didn't come in till about the 13th century, and dyed eggs was brought in about the 16th century. And though you could say that what Jesus Christ were Universal Truths, he claimed they were not from him but God the Universal Sovriegn. He was acting in compliance with this statement, by always acting in harmony with God's guidance until the time of his death where he learnd obidience through endurance.
Peace

Yes, Jesus taught universal truth. He is the only way to heaven, according to the Bible and himself. We should have a healthy fear of God out of respect.

Fear (being scared) and reverent fear are two different things.
We can love God and reverently fear Him for the awesome God He is.
