It will grow back normally, so don't worry that you have made anything worse. But next time you want to remove hair I would recommend waxing or a depilatory and don't do it all over.
For now... wear pieces of gauze in between your skin so you won't feel as much pricking... and use aloe lotion to keep the hair soft while it's growing in.
It's an icky feeling.

Especially shaving in such a sensitive spot when the hair starts growing back it will be really itchy or the 'prickely' that you're speaking of. Make sure you don't shave when it's just stubble - it causes mad razor burn but after a couple days it won't be so uncomfortable. When it grows back it'll still be course like it usually is down there but it won't be like beards. If you're considerned about its softness just dab a little conditioner on it when you shower. For now waiting for the hair to grow back just use a little lotion to keep the irritation down and for the next time you either know what's going to happen or don't shave it all off. If you run a razor over it lightly it makes it trims it up nicely but doesn't take it all off so it will irritate you. Good luck!

Getting the decision to start shaving your pubic hair is easy. Doing it is a bit more difficult.
Using the guidelines in this article, you will find that pubic hair shave can be a simple task.
1. Buy the proper products. You must get a razor and a shaving cream before going on with the other steps.
Do not use a male shaving cream or soap. You can easily find specialized creams for female shaving suitable for your skin type.
Likewise, you must not use switch blade razor or a disposable razor. You should buy a female safety razor which can be used to pubic hair shaving.
2. Cut off your pubic hair. The worst step people do is shaving their pubic hair without clipping it first. Doing so will damage the razor and cause unnecessary pain. Clip your pubic hair using a pair of sharp scissors. Your pubic hair should be as short as possible.
Notice that you will have to do this step only on the first time.
3. Get ready for pubic hair shaving. Clean the area to be shaved. In order to avoid irritated skin and pimples afterwards and for the most effective pubic hair shave, prepare yourself.
Get a hot shower or bath, splashing a lot of water on your pubic hair. After the shower dry yourself properly and make sure your pubic hair is dry and clean before moving to the next step.
4. Now you are ready to shave. Apply shaving cream generously on your pubic hair. Straighten your skin with one hand and gently shave with the other hand. Move the razor in the counter direction of your hair slowly.
You can shave the same area more than once but make sure you have enough cream on the pubic hair area.
5. After you are satisfied with the outcome of the pubic hair shave, wash generously with warm water the shaved area until it is clean.
6. Aftercare – Use baby oil or aloe vera gel to protect your skin.
Follow those steps in order to make pubic hair shave easy and effective. Good luck.

First of all, the worst thing that you could have done is shave there. I know its the easiest solution but if done incorrectly, you can accidentally cut yourself there. Not good since that area is so delicate, you really don't want an infection. Shaving also messes with the way that the hair naturally grows and so now your hair will grow back thicker and it will be very uncomfortable..I think that the pricking is only the beginning. Itching as it grows is probably the worse evil of the two. My suggestion, is that you go get either a bikini wax, a tahitian wax, or a brazilian/playboy. The difference: bikini wax is only the hair that lies directly on the edge of the panty line, tahitian makes the hair look like a little triangle, compared to a little piece of pie, and the brazilian has a landing strip--the playboy is all the hair is gone! Yes it does hurt, but you can ask the esthetician at the spa/salon to put some numbing agent on you. You can also try LMX4 and put it on 30mins before your appointment. Waxing thins out the hair follicle and takes a while to grow back. Also, after you have been waxing for a while, the hair doesn't grow back at all! It leaves the area nice and clean. There is a risk of ingrown hairs but if you rub the area lightly with a loofah sponge in the shower with warm water, this should take care of the problem. In addition, if the wax doesn't pick up some of the hairs, and it does happen, the esthetician will just pluck them out. It doesn't hurt that much and its quick and simple. I hope this helps you out!:)

Sara, don't worry it definitely won't be hard (in fact it won't change at all when it grows back). I find that baby powder (the kind with corn starch) rubbed in makes it less sensitive while it is growing back in, but the best thing is to find the length that you like and try to keep it that way. I have the same problem and have to shave quite often - only occassionally does the prickliness really bother me. You might also try different panties, some panties seem to aggrivate the situation more than others. Be careful of too much oil because you could cause blemishes (pimples) and they are much worse down there than the prickliness occassionally. Good luck and God Bless.

Sara, it'll always grow back nasty. Try shaving the sides with a regular razor and getting the rest with an electric one geared for that. I shave with a Remington for bikini line(it's my baby). After, I put on a clear odorless deodorant like Mitchum(that's a stripper trick, and NO I am not a stripper...) because it has anti-inflammitory properties that prevent you from getting those totally awful pimples. There is a product called Bikinizone that will help numb your pain and clear-up the rash, go get some now! Good luck and take care.

It will grow back normally, but some people can do shaving and some cant, so why dont you get it waxed, it usually lasts for about a month and you wont have to worry about the pricking.
Or you can just keep shaving and remember to you a different brand of shaving gel, such as, silky brands, they work perfect. also, afterwards, put a moisturizer lotion on it.

Most of the women I know who shave their pubic hair professionally recommend cocoa butter. Immediately after shaving, massage cocoa butter or a cocoa butter lotion into the area. Moisturize regularly.
Hair naturally has a tapered end, but when you shave it, you create a blunt or jagged end, so it feels rougher than normal - prickly.
Wax is the most comfortable alternative - in the long run. When the hair starts to grow back, it will have tapered ends.
Chemical depilitories work well also, but have to be used with caution.
I once knew a woman who plucked them all out.

First and foremost why are you shaving down there on your own don't you know that there are people out there that will wax your area for you. Well you did say you where sixteen so my suggestion to you is this always shave it completely off that stops it from pricking next once you have shaved it apply rubbing alcohol to the area and then a small amount of body lotion.
