I feed my kittens adult food early since I had a an adult cat in the house. Just remember as kittens they do eat more so make sure they have enough food.

There are zillions of different kinds of kitten food around! Have a look about, if she's bored there's plenty on offer to give her variety. Most petfood companies do a kitten/puppy variety. Go into Petsmart and behold the choice!
Cats should ideally be on kitten food until they are a year old. It won't do her any harm to be on adult food from ten months - but there's no need if the only problem is choice!

Start mixing the kitten food with the adult cat food slowly increasing the adult food every day. This should make the change easier for her to digest. Starting to switch now shouldn't be a problem

i do no longer feed kitten food after 5 or possibly 6 months (oftentimes change between 4-5 months previous). they might have grownup food and initiate 2 nutrients an afternoon after 6 months. in case you maintain them on kitten food for longer like the bag says, you have a fat kitten by using the time they seem to be a 12 months previous. My cats have on no account been fat - they have advantageous muscle and are trim as they're meant to be.

Yup, you can. I'd still keep feeding her some kitten food on the side, since the kitten food tends to be higher in calories (which a growing kitten needs), but giving her adult cat food probably won't hurt her at 10 months.
A good sign for knowing if your kitten is ready for adult food is if they start gaining too much weight (means the extra calories are turning into fat rather than helping kitty grow).

I've been feeding my two 9 wk old kittens adult food - they were getting that I think at their old home and so they seem to be fine - although the male has been a bit runny lately....

With my kittens i bought kitten food and for my adult cats adult cat food, but i'd buy the cassarole or mince meat variety. In the end i found it a waste of time as the kittens would eat the adult food. They have been eating adult cat food since they learnt to eat. No harm has been done to them.

I would say probably. talk to your vet and see what he/she says first. Ideally at 1 year they should be switched. I switched mine to adult food at about 9 or 10 months because he was getting heavy and there are less calories and fat in adult food and both me and the vet agreed that it would be a good move.

Usually you wait until a year old before you stop feeding kitten food. I would call your vet and ask them just to be on the safe side before switching.
