I have a 3 year old chocolate lab that I would like to use for breeding . He is getting very frustrated and castration I think is cruel but will be a last resort to rid him of his frustration. I live in the Teesside area. Where can I find a b*tch for him to breed with? Im not in this for financial gain nor do I want another puppy, I just want my dog to be happy and not sexually frustrated.

Your boy isn't frustrated because he needs a b*tch to mate, he just has a full set of hormones and doesn't know what to do about it or why.
Mating him will only heighten his desires and make him more difficult to live with as then he will know what it's all about and wont stop searching for the next girl.
Neutering will simply take away this confusing hormone related problem without him ever knowing what he's missing and he will go back to the loveable carefree dog he was when younger.
Don't you agree it's only cruel to give something then take it away rather than never knowing what you missed?
Not to mention all the health checks, un-wanted puppies in the World already and all the other issues everyone else has mentioned.
Get your dog neutered and get a happy dog!

Do you know anything about dog ownership? By letting your dog "get rid of his sexual frustration" your creating a whole new batch of behaviour problems, letting your dog mate once will make him more territorial esp with other males,he will be more inclined to roam, and exhibit more mounting behaviour on people and other animals!Do you really want to make these problems for your dog? Dogs don't suffer sexual frustration in the way humans do,there's is a need for survival and is crucial for there future generations. These days dogs do not need to have pups,it's a myth that bitches should have 1 litter before beeing spayed.Neutering is not cruel it's the kind option and your dog would be completly fine after a day of the op!Be a responsible owner and not add to the ever growing irresponsible owners population.

What you propose is incredibly irresponsible.

In all likelihood, allowing your un-neutered male to mate will cause his poor behavior to increase. He could potentially become more territorial and aggressive towards other dogs and his 'frustration,' as you describe it, may only increase.

By assuming that he's behavior is because of 'sexual frustration' as a human might know it is anthropomorphizing and places human values and thoughts on an act that is motivated entirely by hormones in dogs.

It is not cruel nor inhumane to neuter your dog. As a matter of fact, you will be doing him a great service. Breeding and the constant drive to breed is very stressful on dogs. Your dog will be much happier and healthier if you get him fixed.

It's much better for your dog's health and happiness to be neutered. Mating him is not going to ease his frustration!! You'll also decrease his chance of developing cancer.

Anyone with a breeding quality lab bit ch is going to find a stud who's had and passed all his health checks, had a brucellosis test and proven in the show ring that he's an excellent representative of his breed.

And by the way, neutering a male is not cruel.

well has he passed any working dog tests,is he of show quality, and has he won well at shows,is he a Champion, has he had all the relevant health tests for his particular breed, for example, hip scores, elbow scores, heart testing, eye testing,
as for this calming him down as an owner of three entire stud dogs,I can tell you this is not the case,it will in fact make him worst,as he will be on the look out for females in heat all the time after that,by having him castrated you would in fact be doing him a kindness,as he will live his life as a very frustrated dog indeed,it is normal for people to come looking for a good quality, well breed stud, and not hte other way around,
by his not being castrated he could also develop testicular cancer later in life,
by breeding him now he will never be happy, and will go on the hunt for females, sorry

Dogs don't miss what they've never had, breeding your dog once only is cruel. The instinct to breed lies dormant and is only fully awakened once they have done it.
It would only be a temporary solution to his problem, and you would have to keep doing it. Unless he's a show champion you're just not going to get much interest from good breeders; only the backyard breeders who churn out badly bred and badly reared pups.
Just do the decent thing and have him neutered. Its really not cruel, he's not a human and doesn't think in the same way you do.

Dogs do not think like people. If you neuter him he will not "miss" having testicles like you or I would. What neutering will do is reduce any biological urges.

Whether or not you are in this for financial gain is pretty irrelevant. If you breed him to a b*tch there WILL be puppies and it will be your responsibility to find SUITABLE homes. This is not as easy as it sounds (and sending a puppy to an unsuitable home really would be cruel).

If you are still unsure ask a vet. They will be able to explain the procedure to you.

Allowing your dog to be used at stud will not improve his behaviour. Unless he is constantly exposed to females in season, he is not frustrated. Has he had his hips & elbows scored? Does he have a current clear eye certificate? Is he KC Reg'd? No reputable breeder will use your dog without these things & you wouldn't want a breeder who didn't care about what happens to his puppies to use him. There were nearly 50, 000 Labs born in the UK last year, that is more than enough!

I actual have heard ***** dobermans are plenty extra valuable shelter dogs. Rottweilers b1tches look much less appropriate and distinctive to the adult males. I actual have a american bulldog and shes a ***** and she or he's a genius, i swear i think of if i gave her a e book and a few glasses she might bypass in her kennel and examine lol. The male look alot extra effective and have so plenty extra mass. B1tches look to have slightly extra adulthood approximately them character clever in all breeds I actual have known, yet i come across that adult males look extra valuable and have slightly extra swagger and ask your self.

Male dogs do not get sexually excited unless they are in the presence of a female in heat. It sounds like you're uneducated about dogs so you're the one who is frustrated. Get your dog neutered. It IS NOT cruel. Not having him neutered increases the chances of testicular cancer and prostate cancer. THAT is cruel.
