I attend a mostly Black church and there is a handful of people who are notorious for wearing their bluetooth in church. ALL WOMEN.

They get dressed in the morning and put on stockings, dress, earrings-- bluetooth? The pastor has just lightly touched on the issue on a couple of occassions but people continue to do it.

Let me give you an example of why this is bad. At church one day I walked up to a lady that I knew and began speaking to her. I gave her a hug and said hello, how are you, etc. After a few seconds I realized she looked 'disconnected' from me and she wasn't answering me. Then she raised her finger and tapped her ear to indicate that she was on the phone. I felt small.

there is no good reason to wear it outside of your car to begin with. the whole point of having one is so that you can talk on the phone and drive with both hands instead of one. however, people have taken it to extremes by wearing it wherever they go. it can also help in emergency situations where you need both hands and to talk to someone at the same time. other than that, a cell phone works just fine. the next time someone ignores you to answer their bluetooth, walk away with no regrets because they obivously dont care enough about you to respect the conversation and either excuse themselves or not answer the phone and call the person back later.

I imagine these people are probably not even interested in going to church--they're probably the type who go only to A) show off their new Lincoln; B) show off their expensive clothes; and C) gossip.

There is no reason for wearing a wireless head set in church--especially during the service. If you want to take your cell phone, that's fine--put it on vibrate and leave it in your purse (never know when an emergency will happen at home, etc.) but honestly--do these women actually TALK during the service? If so, that's horrible. Sad that the pastor has to mention that.

I think these women are just showing off, personally. If they only knew how ridiculous those headsets look. Bluetooth is SO yesterday!

That is SO RIDICULOUS!!!! I once had a girl in my Photography class (in college) who wore a blue tooth every day to class.Once she got up excused herself and ran out in the middle of a lecture because someone was calling her- I was totally dumbfounded I couldn't believe how rude she was. I think the only reason to have a blue tooth on in church or just anywhere that is not appropriate is if someone you know or love is in the hospital, someone is due with a baby soon, or something like that, your kids are sick etc you get my point. But even in that case I would think it would be sufficient to just sit with your phone on vibrate in your lap so you could excuse yourself if it rang from the person you were waiting for but having a phone attached to your ear- I dont really think there's a logical reason for that, especially in church.

i'm no longer justifying those women in donning their bluetooth in church, yet i will think of of one reliable reason somebody might pick to placed on a bluetooth in any respect events: medical doctors, incredibly, surgeons. Surgeons might desire to be in touch 24 hours an afternoon, 7 days each and every week. in the event that they get a decision, regardless of the time of day, day of the week, they might desire to be waiting to p.c.. up a decision, get waiting, and bypass to the E.R for surgical operation.

That's just rude to wear a bluetooth to church! The only exceptions I can think of are EMTs and firefighters. But usually they have pagers. Those people with bluetooths should ditch them and just set their phone on vibrate for a church service if an emergency happens. Then they can discreetly walk out. I can't think of a good reason for the bluetooth.

This is America and people are rude and inconsiderate to a fault. Churches do not pose an exception in this inconsideration. Perhaps the next time you come across a person in your church who has a Bluetooth, you should suggest that they disconnect for God if not for general courtesy.

There is *no* good reason. It is unequivocally rude. If you have some sort of pending family emergency, you don't need to go to church. If you're waiting for an important call, either stay home, or at lest put your phone on vibrate & leave to answer it.

Ok not really a blue tooth situation, but close. I once went to a wedding and as the preacher was speaking a person in the audience got a cell phone call and answered it. Instead of saying he will call back or maybe go outside, he continued to speak for 10 minutes. I was amazed.

I'm not justifying these women in wearing their bluetooth in church, but I can think of one good reason someone would need to wear a bluetooth at all occasions:

Doctors, particularly, surgeons.

Surgeons need to be in contact 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If they get a call, regardless of the time of day, day of the week, they need to be able to pick up a call, get ready, and go to the E.R for surgery.

I truely think there is absolutely no reason for that, it is uncalled for and rude. If you can't give an hour of undivided attention for God then you are not ready to be in his house.

If it was a family emergency then that would be understood, but then excuse yourself if you feel.

Other then that it is impolite and disrespectful.

Furthermore you should have not felt small she should, she didn't have the decency to excuse herself.
