it doesnt hurt or anything, i also had a dental procedure done yesterday and they used anesthetic, so that may have somethin to do with it (my lip swelled up) has anyone had this happen before?

could have been the gloves they were wearing =I sometimes get sores on my lips after they a done dental work on me

Ummm....I would go to the doctor ASAP and have them check it out.

I hope it is some type of a cold sore or simple breakout but I heard that people were getting herpies from dental tools and from having their upper lips waxed and the people used the same wax stick.

Just have it checked out. Dont take anyones work for it, your body is no joke.

cold sores don't always hurt, nor do they even itch. they often occur as a result of trauma, such as that experienced in a dental chair. they are caused by the herpes simplex virus, and there is no cure, you can however treat them successsfully with many products available over the counter. If this is your first outbreak, count on the problem spreading, and full healing will likely take about a month.

If it doesn't hurt or tingle, it's not a cold sore. Could just be trauma from the procedure. Call your dentist and ask. Keep your hands off of it though.

is it inside yur lip or on the outside?
if it`s inside, then its probably a cold sore.
if it`s out, i dunno
