Try taking a Bible course or reading the Lost Books of the Bible. There were other people on the planet when Cain killed his brother because God says that he put a mark on Cain to keep him from being killed or harmed by any of the people he came in contact with once he was cast out from among his family. Cain had a twin sister and Abel had a twin sister; the brothers were not each other's twin. Apparently the twin of Cain was not considered Abel's sister because she did not share womb space with him. Therefore, according to the rules of the day, each brother could have a wife. It may sound sordid, but it was not uncommon until recent times to marry and reproduce within immediate families. The Lost Books of the Bible provides the missing text, also including the books of Mary (Jesus' mother) and a few of the books that detail Jesus' life from childhood to adulthood. And remember, your faith is based on taking God's word for some things that you will never understand completely. Good Luck.

When God created Adam and Eve God told them to be fruitful and multiply there for they first had Able and Caine.
when the Bible tells the story about Caine and Able it doesn't states the time this happend. remember people back then lived for many years and the Bible states that they had many many children. So we don't realy now if caines wife was his sister, but my guess would be that it was most likely a relative (cuasen, a daughter of one of his sisters or something).

God works in mysterious ways and he permitted this twice in the History of mankind, ones with Adam and Eve and the other with Noah and his familie, in order for mankind to multiply. Throughout the years though because of sin God has forbidden this and that is way he sent the 10 commandments to place his law and everything in order.

Hope this helps
God bless

Where did Cain Get His Wife?

In Genesis 4:16 it says, "Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. 17And Cain had relations with his wife and she conceived, and gave birth to Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city Enoch, after the name of his son."
Genesis tells us that Adam and Eve had two sons: Cain and Abel. Cain killed Abel, was exiled by God, and then in Genesis 4:17 we read that Cain had relations with his wife. Where did Cain get his wife? The answer is simple: Cain married either his sister or a niece.
In Genesis 5:4 we see that Adam had other sons and daughters.

"This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. 2He created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them Man in the day when they were created. 3When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth. 4Then the days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he had other sons and daughters. 5So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died," (Gen. 5:1-5).

Since Adam lived several hundred years, having lots of children was not a problem. The Genesis account does not tell us about the order of the births nor does it tell us how old they were. By having many children it is certainly possible that there were many women around. This would mean that Cain married either a sister or a niece or some other relation. Of course at this point, the question of inbreeding is raised. But it is not a problem early on in the human race because the genetic line was so pure. Therefore, the prohibition against incest was not proclaimed until much much later (Lev. 18:6-18).

Just thought about that the other day.
Cain went to another land. I don't know if any of Adam & Eve's children moved to another land or not. If they did, then Cain may have married his sister. Perhaps God did make more people than we have recorded.
However, if Cain did marry someone else, what happened after the flood? There must have been cousins with cousins. That's pretty gross.
Is there anything in the Bible that speaks against this intermarrying?

At best, the Adam and Eve Genesis story is meant to teach some moral values on the nature of human sin, NOT how we came to be.

The amount of in-breeding and incest necessary to attempt to start a population with one female and one male would eventually result in genetic problems and sterility. It does not matter how "pure" the blood is (and there is no such thing). The same can be said for the story of Noah's Ark, including the animals.

Besides, if Adam and Eve could have sex with their kids who could also have sex with each other, and Noah's family did the same, why is such behavior shunned today?

I would like to suggest a book called "The Making of the Fittest" by Sean B. Carroll.

That is a common belief, yes he married his sister. The blood line was pure back then, this is how we were taught. The other answer is that Adam and Eve were the first but maybe the Bible doesn't mention the others God created. I honestly don't know for sure. I wish we had the answer to your question.

Adam and Eve were the first humans on the planet. They gave birth to sons and daughters. These sons and daughters married each other. They had children probably each year until they were old..In fact the bible says that Adam stayed as a young man with vital energy until his last years. Then he aged rapidly and died. Adam lived almost 1000 years and he and his wife may have had multiple births...and all their children multiplied as quickly also. Incest did not come into the scene until much later.

Come on already . Who do you think made you . Do you
think that God has a limit to His Creation . Think about it and
take a moment and look around with open eyes this time .
Mankind Hasn't even touch the top of a needle when it comes to Creation . I don't know about your god BUT, my God is so
Big I can't even imagine it . How do we become so self
rightous that we think we know more than God . We don't
deserve an answer . First we should do as God has asked us
Than when or if we make it to His presents he will show you
all His Wonders .

That was the only way to populate the earth. Centuries later, the Mosaic law forbid this type of relationship.
