Will Windows PC software run on a MAC? We're thinking about getting one.

I meant to say that we have thousands of dollars invested in software that says PC compatible, but say nothing about being Mac compatible.

As lalalareallynutz says, you can run Windows on the new Macs. You can boot into Windows via Bootcamp. That is free, but you can't jump back and forth between Windows and OS X in real time, you need to boot into one, then boot into the other. To use both at once, get Parallels.

By the way, you can also use Linux on a Mac, so they're the only computers that can run all three: Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows.

Having said all that, OS X is the best OS out there, and Windows is the worst, so start by using just OS X and then use Windows for anything that you haven't found an OS X equivalent for yet. It probably won't be long before you quit using Windows altogether.

Nowadays you can run Windows on a Mac, but you have to buy Windows. You don't need thousands of software, you need software that does what you want to do.

The new Intel Macs will run windows, so yes you can now pollute your lovely Mac with bug filled, crashing, virus riddled windows. Good luck.

You can run Windows itself on a new Mac, if you need too, so all your programs can run that way.
