If you use dried beans as a weight when baking a pastry shell, can you re-use the beans later?

I am talking about using the beans (or rice for that matter) later as food. Don't like to waste things and I don't bake pie crust all that often.

No, unfortunately not. Once you blind bake with beans, they cannot be used for any other purpose.
