I would not do it, even if I was certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that it really was god speaking. It is an incredibly cruel thing to ask, more so if god isn't really serious about it.
God's deliberate and insensitive cruelty to Abraham regarding Isaac is one of the biggest reasons I can never choose christianity. Abraham was faithful, so god could have chosen to say "I will never ask you to sacrifice your child". But instead he toyed with Abraham.
I'm disgusted that there are people who would actually go through with it. Their religious dogma has twisted and perverted their sense of humanity and family so badly that they can't see the evil and the crime against nature in killing their own flesh and blood.

Probably I'd hear it inside my head, like a thought, rather than through the more traditional auditory method.
If of course, there was a God, if of course, the aforementioned God ever bothered to speak to me and quite importantly, if I had a child on hand.
Damn, failed on all three points.

don't know. never heard it before. but if it's really the voice of god, maybe i'll kill my child using the method which will cause less pain, maybe while he's sleeping.

Seek the true God that is Jesus...God will never call you to kill your child. If you are using Abraham to justify your case then you need to check his background. Abraham hailed from a pagan culture where sacrificing chiild is normal, God wanted to show him that He is diffrent from his pagan gods...
