Following my last question, I get the feeling that some people think that the Christian God should love and save everyone. Don't you know that you are an enemy of God? God is sending everyone in hell unless they believe in Jesus and repent.

God is love, but God is also justice. It's like two faces of the same coin. God is perfectly just. He is punishing anyone who died in their sin. He is also saving anyone who simply believes in Jesus and repents.

"For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!"

I don't need a theology class to read the simple truth of the Bible.

God's friendship is conditional!

Yes, I understand that perfectly. And I think you did a good thing by bringing up that point. I like your illustration of the coin. Praise God for his mercy! Because of his blood, I am no longer an enemy, but a friend of God. Amen!

I disagree, though, that God sends people to hell. They choose it for themselves by not accepting Jesus as their Savior. Hell was not originally created for people (it was for the devil and his fallen angels), but it is now the consequence of living a life without Jesus.

WOW!
When I 1st came into the truth I was so puzzled as to WHY so many ppl don't comprehend the words that are very simply stated in a clear & concise manner. i.e. the world is round & way back in human history they thought it was flat & @ that time in human history ALOT more ppl followed the Word of God. It states clearly in the Bible that the world hangs upon nothing @ all,(which we all know 2 b true) Well I was shown in Scripture, that Satan the Devil blinds their minds. There was my answer. Why humans are so muddled in finding the Truth.
After reading all the posted replies, WOW!! SO many ppl really don't know the truth,as I used to not know also.
Jehovah God, gives us free will, it is a gift.
U can chose to believe in that which U want,or not.
If no one has ever shown or talked to u,
HOW DO/ WOULD U KNOW HIM??
HE doesn't WANT ANYONE to lose their life.
HE is LOVE.
HE is a God exacting justice,if u chose to NOT believe in HIM or HIS Son, that is your choice & u will have to live w/ that OR NOT.Everyone will be given the opportunity to chose life in HIS Kingdom or not.
It is your choice.
And you can thank HIM for that.

Well, since your God has made that ultimatum, that either I kiss his butt and tell him he is wonderful and all that at every point in my day (wonder why he needs his ego stroked so much?) or if I do not think he is wonderful (or even there) and kiss his butt then I go to hell, well frankly I would prefer to go to hell. I can not believe in a god that needs to be praised that much, nor that I would have to kiss his butt like you do. Does that not make you feel dirty to have to do that all the time? It certainly would if I did that.
However, riddle me this one. If God and Satan do not get along and since if we do not kiss God's butt and tell him he is amazing, he will send us to hell forever, what makes you think that Satan will do God's bidding? Why would Satan (if there is such a thing - same applies to God) punish people because God wanted him to? What is his motivation to do what God wants?
Also, the Christian premise for your God is usually based on the following:
1. God is all powerful.
2. God is all creating (created everything).
3. God is everywhere.
4. God is all knowing.
5. God is all good.
Since that is the premise for the Christian God, then why is God (being a perfect being) plagued by wanting to punish people who do not believe in him. What would his motivation be? There would be no logical reason to punish people for that, that would be based on emotion of which if God is perfect he lacks the imperfect emotions of jealousy, hate, etc.
In addition, the punishment would not fit the crime. If we do not believe in him for lets say a 75 year life span, but he punishes people for eternity, does that even seem fair to you? Obviously your God is not fair at all.
Also, since God (if he exists) created an imperfect being (human) and then expected us to be perfect all the time, then God is a jerk. How could he expect that humans would believe in him, when he is never around and has never walked among his people, he has never sent down or physically written anything. The Bible was written by people and that is extremely apparent. In addition, the Bible has been translated so many times that it is more lies and fantasy than anything else historical. If God really wanted to put his book on the planet then he should have created it in a material that could not be altered, etc. So where would his justification be in punishing people for not following children's stories (the Bible)?

I can understand an enraged God who metes justice on those who destroy or demean his creation, like murderers and pedophiles.

However, I refuse to believe in a Being that establishes a list of arbitrary rules and situations and damns his own creation for sport if they break anyone of them and don't follow him by the book. Why have free will at all, if that is what He wants?

Too many people bring God down to the level of a schoolyard bully and I don't buy it. As a Being of unimaginable intelligence and the Creator of such overwhelming beauty (like the planet, Earth), why be so petty? It doesn't make any sense at all.

So, why don't you just focus on not being an enemy of God yourself, instead of trying to be judge and jury for Him by accusing everyone ELSE of being an enemy of God.

"How can you remove the speck of sawdust from your brothers eye when all the time there is a great plank in your own." -Jesus

God IS love, and He DOES love everyone.

I seem to remember from reading the Bible that it was precisely those "enemies of God" that Jesus hung out and was friends with.

There is no such thing as mother earth only Father God.

Correct, but how do you know that. May be you are enemy of God in believing trinity, associated biological attribute of begetting to God and believing that sin inherits. How does inheritance of sin suite with God's justice.
Why can't I believe that you are enemy of God?

Then how come so many soldiers come from christian backgrounds, and get killed while killing others in their own country?
Killing in the name of God is exactly what we accuse others of, and punish them brutally for that. We make entire countries miserable for our own ideals, our own goals.
Where is justice? where is the safety? where is the love?
let's repent quick before another family suffers.

Considering how Rome, Greece, Persia, Babylon, Assyria and just about everyone else your God has faced managed to kick his ***, even nailing his proxy to a cross and using him as a symbol of Roman domination, I'm not too worried.

Egypt was supposed to be destroyed. They're just fine. Tyre was supposed to be destroyed, but there they are.

Aside from a few insignificant tribes in the Old Testament, your God is everyone's whipping boy.

My God is bigger than your God, and I don't even have one!

Dont you understand that people only believe what they are told! If your parents where from another religion, you would believe that religion with the same respect as the one you love now. Why does your god insist on sending these people to hell???
