You need to really rest. Being your first time pregnant it's hard for you to know what is normal for your body during pregnancy. Take a few days off and do nothing but rest. See if this helps you. if it does you know that you need to take it easy and not push yourself so much. be sure you drink plenty of liquids to stay hydrated. Many pregnant women find gingerale to help stop the nausea. Ginger tea sweetened with honey is excellent for stopping the nausea.

If things continue to where you feel it's serious make Kaiser give you a doctor's appointment.

You poor dear. I have Kaiser too...it is a real pain to get the same people which I feel hinders good care. Was it the advice nurse, ER or your regular OB or midwife? I am surprised they didn't tell you; it sounds like what you are experiencing is Sciatica. The Sciatic nerve runs from your spine down your leg. When it is pinched, it is very painful-I know because I have had that before. Pregnant women get Sciatica a lot and for a couple of reasons-one their baby is facing the wrong direction (face up) and their head is putting too much pressure on the tailbone and rear pelvis; and, two swelling in the body and legs is putting pressure on the nerve. Right now I have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome and not because I type too much it is because I am so swollen in my wrists, the nerve is pinched.

First thing is first, do you feel baby moving today? If not, call L&D so you can have a Non-Stress Test. Are you having more than 6 contractions in an hour? If so call L&D. I would keep leaving messeges for your care provider and hassle them about this. There is no reason for you to be in agony.

I wish you the best.

Hi again. Sounds like something is happening. try and hold out to 37 weeks. You want a nice healthy baby. Full term means no problems with lung development. I don't know about use of a heating pad though. i would think it is not good for the baby. Use pillows everywhere. Yes, these are the battle scars you'll endure until the baby is here. Remember it for the next baby! Write it all down so you remember. Remember that the baby is getting bigger and the space inside is lessening, it will feel weirder and less movement which may freak you out. Hang in there.
