They say that God made it that way. Just like how God made light only appear to have traveled light years to get to earth. Just like how God put dinosaur fossils on earth to give the appearance of any older earth.
Now why would God do that?

I do not know where the assumption the world is only 6000 years old came from.
Recorded history is only around 6000 years old.
The idea it took millions of years to erode can also be misleading.
Substantial earthquakes have changed the planet from time to time in many areas.
Volcanoes continue to change the face of the earth.
Using the idea that the Colorado canyon was formed by only a stream of water is a guess, A decent one but only a guess.
Yes it erodes to this day but geologists cannot confirm without a doubt that only water carved it out.
By the way they do have another theory that the desert was a one time the bottom of a body of water.
It is not just an explanation.

btw,The world is not 6000 Earth years old my friend. That's not the correct interpretation of the Bible.
The Grand Canyon did take millions of years to form. Years and years of erosion. There is the possibility that the canyon formed when large glaciers cut thru the canyon during the ice age.

I am a Christian and anyone who says that the Earth is only 6000 years old is an idiot. It is millions and millions of years old. There are 3 Heaven and Earth Ages. The 1st is OVER, we are in the 2nd, and the 3rd is yet to come, BUT it will very soon. (The 1st Heaven and Earth Age ended at the attempted overthrow of Satan and 1/3 of the Angels that followed him. Read the Book of Peter in the New Testament and it will tell you about the three (3) different Heaven and Earth Ages.

Fast moving water is a powerful force and all the mountains in the world seem to have fish in them at all levels. The waters of the deep were opened up for Noah's Flood. The giant whale and squid survived in the flooding waters of Noah's day. God gave you a rainbow to promise that He would never destroy the world by flood waters again. Every country in the world has some story about a man and his great flood. Sorry - even history records a GREAT FLOOD.

No one is disputing that the earth could be millions of years old. Actually some might be but I don't. :) The bible doesn't say how long after God created the earth in it's original form he turned it into a home for his human creation. It also doesn't say how long after that he actually placed humans on earth.
There is also, IMHO, no disputing the fact that water is a powerful force that can change the earth's geography. Wasn't the Iberian Peninsula once attached to Africa.
The Bible does not say the earth was created in 6, literal 24-hour periods. It refers to creative time periods. Want an example of how "day" is used? Find an old relative... I mean an OLD relative. Next time he (or she) starts talking about how things were in his "day", try to pin him down to which 24-hour day he's referring to.

you don't know that for sure, the flood could've started from any point in the world, causing a canyon to form, but settle down quickly not allowing for other canyons to be formed, or God could've just decided to place it ther as a habitat.
Explain the Mariana Trench, there are no ocean currents even remotely around it, and it's right in the middle of a tectonic plate, so God must've made it that way

before everything- there are various diverse religions interior Creationism/Christians. so there are various diverse ideals and perspectives in this count, as with many others. the flood is how the grand canyon grew to become into formed, yet i've got faith that the two between the techniques you stated created it. how is that attainable?? properly, shall we initiate with Genesis 7:11. "interior the six hundredth 12 months of Noah's existence, on the seventeenth day of the 2nd month—on that day each and every of the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens have been opened." so this shows that the earth grew to become into torn open, water burst forth, no longer purely rain from the sky- however the earth erupted, mountains formed: the grand canyon grew to become into carved out of the face of the earth-- or a minimum of, area of it. this grew to become into an straight forward place for the water to empty out after the flood, so as that's what might have got here approximately. for this reason the layers! because of the fact the water grew to become into draining away, the heavier layers, then the lighter ones, separated and layed themselves down. so i see the place you may desire to be perplexed, yet i say it grew to become into carved out because of the fact the water flowed out and the layers have been placed down. its puzzling to describe-- i think we will on no account extremely understand until eventually Jesus tells us!! i'm hoping i helped. there are great explinations, yet they're in video clips and issues- and that i do no longer undergo in recommendations their names. properly, wish i helped!! God Bless!!

The Grand Canyon is only about 700 years old and only took a few minutes to create. God revealed this to me in a dream. It was sudden erosion caused by Satan's pee stream, that he let loose in order to deceive scientists.

Genesis is about the creation of man, not a science book about the creation of the earth.
Adam was created after a few billion years after the dinosaurs. God knew we would need fossil fuel. The Grand Canyon had billions of years to do it's thing.

Well I am no scientist, but I do know that the God created this earth and every living thing that walks on the face of the earth. There are many things about this earth that we do not understand, nor are we suppose to. All those questions CAN be answered, by one simple truth! Find the Lord and let Him into your heart. One day when He calls us all up to Him, these things will be revealed to all those who are with Him!
