channiek ~ you are certainly entitled to your opinion but this is a sincere question. More sincere than you could ever know, from someone who is feeling lost.

I talk to God as a friend. It is meditation for me. It relaxes me.

I don't believe in following any type of ritual when it comes to how I pray. So no I don't believe in saying the same old thing every time, even God would not want that as it would probably be boring even to him.

It does say what a friend we have in Jesus. And we are also told to take it to the Lord in prayer.

I pray with love/faith in my heart, and I know that the Jesus Christ loves me in return and he answers my prayers.
There is no way that I could ever impress the Lord, since I am only human. However, I have both seen and felt all that the Lord has done for me in my life and so it is I who is in awe of Jesus Christ, he is truly awesome.

Praying to Jesus Christ gives me a balance in my life. Jesus Christ helps keep me grounded and helps me stay in tune with the person that I wish to be. A person with morals and values, some one who cares for others and wants to do right in this world. Prayer gives me what nothing else can bring to me, peace.

This is how I feel and I am in no way attempting to try and push my feelings or thought upon any one. It is after all how I feel.

I begin with a series of prayers first, the Our Father, Hail Mary, and a prayer of my choosing each day in thanksgiving for all the Lord has blessed me with, then I begin just talking to God of the problems in the world or a problem I may have, I ask that He bring guidance and strength to everyone, I ask that He open the hearts and eyes of those you dont know Him , and ask Him to protect everyone. I speak to Him as I would a friend or relative, and I know that He is in the room or where ever I may be at the time. I pray like this 3 times a day and I always have a prayer in my heart. Emotionally Iam very connected with God and many times my prayers bring me to tears of joy. I can feel God there with me, holding my hands as I pray and talk with Him.

I pray multiple times per day. Sometimes I'm just overcome with the urge to pray and talk to God.
There is no certain ritual I follow (outside church), though I do pray before every meal.
I talk to God like a friend...He is my best freind.
Emotionally, I feel loads better when I give my problems to God. He already knows my heart, my intentions and what's on my mind, but when I verbalize them in prayer, I know He hears me.

Sorry that you are feeling lost. I'd love to pray for and with you. If you need to talk to someone, email me! :-)

I pray privately in a quiet place. I speak truthfully and humbly like a young person talking to his Father. When I read how Jesus prayed I didn’t see any rituals, with beads, or special technique. I remember him saying don’t think you will get some reward for the use of many words, and not to say the same thing over and over. So I speak as I assume Jesus would to his heavenly father.

Do not get the impression that this is a sincere question. What are you getting at. You can pray to God at any time. He is just and able to forgive all your sins. God Bless

There was a time when i had no faith because i believed that The Almighty had created me to have an outlet for its rage, wrath, and something trivial to punish and rip apart.i am very happy and peaceful to report that i was quite erroneous in my thinking, and that it took 3 major "awakenings" for me to realize that The Almight loves me and wants NOTHING but the best of all things ( worth having ) for me.The three most prevalent ones that come to mind are:

When i was at a weekend retreat ( which i did my best to avoid ) where i was told on Firday evening that if i didn't let go of what i was looking for i would'nt get what i was there for. The next morning i recieved the forgiveness of God and i a inadequate to describe the feeling to this day.

When i was attempting to jog and i said "i can't do his any more" something moved me to another place, and when i tried to duplicate it i became very heavy and couldn't-- this is wheni became aware that there was a God.

When i attempted to have a relationship and it didn't work out. When i got home , i fel to my knees by my bed , sobbing in anguish and pain. i simply said to God, "IF i'm going to be alone for the rest of my life, will youi please let me know it will be OK?? i swear, on everything i hold dear and true, this thought came to me; and if i had been standing it would have knocked me down.. The thought which arose in my mind was " You are NEVER alone". As i type this. tears of wonder and peace are streaming down my face because , since that moment in time, i have NEVER felt the pain of being alone.i have been able to see something positive in most situations ( in my life, but not necessarily in others or in certain events ) and i am at peace and contentment for the most part.
My wish for you is that you find a way that works in your time of discomfort. If it were possible for me to give you the energy that dwells deep within me i would, but i KNOW that the same energy exists within you, it's in ALL of us, even tho we don't always feel it.You will be in my prayers; and finally, pray whatever way works for you, but please don't give up--- you are far to important to me now that you have become a part of my journey. And KNOW that no matter what happens in your life, NO ONE can take that from me. You have so honored my life by permitting me to enter yours.

Almost constantly. Dear friend, boy did your addendum strike a chord. From the answers here, it seem most pray privately in their own mind, maybe some with words out loud. Sometimes I speak, sometimes whisper to God, sometimes it is just in my mind. I try to give thanks to God for so many blessings, right now I am pretty consumed with praying for God to restore health to my husband. I try to always remember to say I ask in Jesus name.

I pray the Lord's Prayer several times a day, both in my head and aloud. I speak to the Blessed Virgin and ask her to pray to God for us.

God Bless you.

when i pray i get down on my knees fold my arms close my eyes and ask GOD to watch over my family friends, and all the needy then i thank him for everything. then i talk to him about problems im having in my life right now. then i finally ask him for good health for my self and everybody else. (this is just a shortened version)
i dont like prayers that are the same over and over again, after a while they just get POINTLESS. except for the lords prayer. but yea i like to pray it helps me get closer to god and it helps me feel better

I talk to God in pray as if i were talking to my own dad. If you are having a problem praying use the words that Jesus taught us.
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the Glory forever Amen.
