Watch the movie "Pursuit of Happiness". The preacher you see in the movie is the actual guy that helped the homeless in San Francisco. There were hundreds of homeless, and this one ministry did what it could.

First of all I admire your willingness to minister to the homeless.
The homless have no one to count on, no place to stay and most of them have no income. So I would think, that by giving them a place to stay (shelter) Providing a way for them to work (income) and then just being a friend, would help them out a lot. You cant make a person believe in God, So maybe if in that shelter, you had mini Praise and worship... Or maybe a "life lesson" Like a sermon or something, that would be a good way to minister.

i think you should treat them the same as any other person. i read that homeless people feel less than dirt because no one will ever look at them in the face, instead people just turn away or look at something else. so i guess just treat them as an equal, like everyone else. the only difference is they don't know where they are going to sleep at night.

well my church put together a ministry with free haircuts, groceries, job searchs, and best of all a foot washing station and we actually bathed their feet like Jesus did. it was a real blessing to humble my self enough to do that and love another person.
