How do you know if you love someone?

I am dating a guy I have know for over a year. We have only been dating for 3 months and he tells me he loves me, I am not sure I love him but I do care about him alot. My question i scan you love someone is such little time?

People are different. Take a poll and ask people, did you go to the right college? For the ones that say, yes, I did, ask them, how did you know that you choose the right college (or house to buy or pet).... some will say, oh, I just visited and it felt right! Some will say, well, I didn't know, but I had to pick someplace. Some will say, it's the only one where I got accepted! Some will say, well, I wanted a small liberal arts college that wasn't too far from home with a price of under $X and students whose average SAT score was over Y and a male to female ratio of blah, blah, blah. Same with love. Some people "just know." Some people never know. For some people it's a gut feeling. For some it's more of a logical decision. Just cause you're uncertain doesn't mean you don't or won't love him. You must know yourself and decide what you want.

My boyfriend fell in love with me within a week. I, myself, reciprocated after only a month. There's absolutely no reason a person can't love you in a short time. Love is an emotion, and you have no control over it. Give yourself some credit. You must be a great girl to have the love of another person. Please don't rely on the time line of other people to decide when is a "good time" to fall in love. It so doesn't work like that, ideally that is. Don't over analyze love, because real love isn't something that CAN be analyzed. If you don't feel the same, be honest and let him know. Tell him you appreciate his feelings and you care about him but you still need time to work through how you feel. If he loves you he will understand that,yes, it DOES take some people time to fall in love. Work on building your relationship, love will come naturally. If not, then you know what to do, but give it a bit more time.

P.S. As to your original question, 'How do you know if you love someone?' Well, I'll just say this: You wouldn't even have to ask ;)

You sound young, and please don't rush any part of your life, because of some notion you have to! Don't worry about anything but taking your time to really get to know Mr. I love you. Don't worry about the love word either just say great, now can you get me (concert tickets). Keep checking out his religious life, his past, his current behavior ( does he drink constanly) stuff that bothers you! You don't know enough is my guess and thats why you feel exactly the way you explain your self. The guy doesn't really float your boat---he is just ok

I guess you already answered your own question.....When you love someone, you don't question yourself whether you do or you don't. You just feel it all over......It's okay to care about him but, it will be really hard to stay with someone who you just care about...you are going to need to feel more than just that........
