I usually work out 2 to 2 1/2 hours a day five days a week. But I don't go in and try to exercise everything at once, I concentrate on sections while I am lifting and my time includes 45 minutes of cardio. No cardio is a bad thing. I also take some supplements and a ton of protein. It depends though on what you are trying to do. If you are going for strength and mass, no. If all you want to do is tone it may be a bit excessive.

That mostly depends on what your goals are.
Anyone can benefit from a minimum of 30 minutes a day of targeted gym exercises, but again, it depends on what your goals are. If your gym routine consists of cardio and weight training, then 2.5 hours might be fine. But, you should consult with a certified personal trainer so that they can make an assessment of your current routine and make suggestions to help you maximize your time. It may be that 2.5 hours, four days a week might be too much and you could probably do less with more benefits.
Perhaps if you give us an idea of what each day consists of, someone can offer a better answer.

I usually am at the gym for 30 minutes, since I don't work out with a partner right now, I go through exercises quickly and don't spend much time resting.
It all depends on your intensity and work ethic.

Let's see, I go in with a plan, and I spend about 45 minutes per day in the Gym, and can hardly carry myself out when done. It's not about the time, it's about the intensity. The more intense you are, the less time you need.
I've seen power lifters go in and throw weights around that make me exhausted just by looking at them. They are in and out in 30 minutes, chugging a protein shake as they run back to their car.
If you have a plan, a detailed one, and follow through on it, it doesn't take very long in the gym at all.

There is no right answer to this one. I work out for 90 mins to 2hrs, but only when time allows. I average an hour due to work and other responsibilities. Do what makes you happy and do what helps you get to your target goals. Then you will know how long is long enough. Good luck!

Base that on your over-all health. Let your doc give you an over-all physical. They can help determine, based on that, what you need and give recommendations. Normally, 2 1/2 hours is enough 4 days a week.

Depends on the intensity. From what I understand, after 45 mins or an hour, your workout starts becoming counterproductive. Also, from a mental standpoint, you can lose focus after that amount of time.

One hour maximum, and don't do the same exercises 2 days in a row.
2 hours is anorexia territory.
