The Darwin theory of evolution and the origin of species has one major draw-back as far as I'm concerned, in that it allowed the Nazis to argue their case for an upper and lower version of the Human Race. So on that level I am unhappy. On another level I think the Bible was mainly composed, it;'s earlier books anyway, by what amounted to a band of wondering Bedouin - the Jews in the wilderness. Much of the Bible therefore is based upon religious hokum and not science. To apply a scientific belief to what's in the Bible by claiming this is how God made the world and the universe is just plain silly. Basically what we have here is a powerful history book, mainly of the Jews.

It does make sense, as if you took the Bible literally, rather than a series of parables, then evolution doesn't agree.
In answer to your second question ... you miss out the word Oil, tends to explain that one. That and the fact that the man involved naffed off the father of the US Leader, sectarian or not.

The second question is a non seqitur- it does not follow from the first.
Evolution and the Bible are compatible unless you define evolution as something other than "change in allele frequency in a population over time" or a similar BIOLOGICAL definition of evolution, as opposed to those spouted by those ignorant of evolution.

I do not 'believe' in evolution - like all sciences, it is not faith based. Rather I accept the established fact of evolution as evidenced by comparative anatomy, the fossil record and above all and incontrovertible, DNA analysis. I also accept Natural selection as the most parsimonious theory of how evolution works.
I also accept the existence of the collection of documents called the bible! I also accept them for what they are - an anthology of myths, fables and mysticism! There is no more in the bible for me to 'believe in' than there is in the Harry Potter books!

I believe in both. There is nothing in the Bible that says evolution doesn't exist, it's perfectly compatible with creationism. Darwin believed in creationism.
War is caused by greed and ignorance, nothing to do with the bible or evolution.

Jesus said he was the light of the world. How many gigawatts is that?
Jesus said that Herod was a fox. Why did the Romans put a fox in charge of human beings?
And why have I never seen a talking snake?
Perhaps Bible Prophecy for the World Today could provide the answers to these and other fascinating questions.

The bible is wonderful story book and thats all. I personally prefer the elder religions of northern europe. As for evolution I don't really believe the whole just parts.

It sometimes amazes me that people can answer such closed and limiting questions. I'm not trying to be offensive or patronising, it's just that you are almost forcing people to take one view or another, when there is the potential for so many other different viewpoints
BIBLE ----- EVOLUTION Nothing in between ?

As a creationist I don't agree with you that evolution stops people from being saved. Only unbelief in Christ can do that. And once belief is there, there is no going back. Salvation is forever.

I believe that something crawled out of the sea a billion years ago and through millions of mutations we have humans, ants and whales. All from the same beginning. Sounds logical to me. NOT!!
And if you do believe that. Where did the water come from. If we are a chunk off of an exploding sun, again. where did the water come from. There is no water on stars.
Just doesn't add up.
