If you are referring to a vastly popular program "Teen Court"...yes!
It enables youth to become involved in important issues firsthand. Additionally, it provides leadership skills with emphasize placed on education and participation in society.
The teen courts are overseen by actual attorneys and judges who guide the program sucessfully!
Best wishes!

The complex legal arguments that juries sometimes have to hear require someone with enough education and maturity to understand and debate rationally.
I don't doubt though that there are some teens out there that probably would be better thinkers than many adults.

ARE teen JURIES a good idea?
No. I don't think teens are old enough to understand the gravity of what some of their peers do. I've worked in a juvenile prison and I've seen some of the things teen criminals do (like one who helped beat a transient half to death before burning down his trailer).
I don't mean to offend you, but that's my honest opinion. I've taught too many teenagers who believe their peers should be given too much freedom after committing some of these types of crimes.

No way, teens sometimes cant think for themselves, they think the world evolves around them, and that everyone owes them a living. Teenagers today(most of them) have nothing but disrespect, they know nothing of the laws(unless they have gotten in trouble , in which case they blame it on the officers or someone else) Worry about being a teenager and not about grown up things.

Absolutely NOT. Teens have usually not developed a rational thought process.
