A three year age difference may not seem like a big gap but at your age it really is. A 13 year old has no business dating a 16 year old. You and him are at different places in your teenage years and you're supposed to be. Don't pull the I'm a girl and mature for my age because the idea still isn't a good one. Have a secret crush on him....it's normal but don't pursue him. Besides, if he wouldn't date a younger girl then why embarrass yourself in the first place?

Well, I should start by saying that everyone at your age falls "in love" with one of their friend's brothers or brother's friends. Unfortunately, I don't think you are really old enough to have a boyfriend, especially one that may not be a virgin. Anways, my personal feelings aside, 14 and 17 is illegal, so unfortunately in a year your relationship would be illegal. He may not have a problem with the age difference, but I am sure he may have a problem with the legality of it. Anyways, my advice to you is to talk to your friend about it first because she may have a problem with it and no guy is worth ruining a great friendship! Good luck, sweetie, and please remember not to rush into anything that you are not ready for just because everyone else is doing it!

Sorry, babe. He is not going to be romantically interested in a 13 year old at his age. Especially because you are the little sister of one of his friends. I'd say find a guy closer to your age. When you're around 16 or so would be a better time to try to date older men. I'm sorry!! If you can get him to like you, though, more power to ya!!

Well you have to sit and think if you dated your best friends brother and something didn't work out between you two... How would that effect your friendship with your best friend??? Is it worth losing your best friend over her brother???
I think you should think about that and you are only 13 you will have a lot of guys come in and out of your life... just make sure that you are willing to lose a friend for a little crush...
Think it through and good luck!!!

Kayleigh 3yrs isn't much of an age gap but he's probably worried about you being under age, and i'm sorry to say that lads his age are intrested in girls that do things ( if you get my meaning). Just becareful and don't let him make a fool out of you :)

Because of the age difference (maturity level) I doubt you can convince him of anything. He probably wants girls close to his own age that are allowed to go out and do things with him. However, in a year or two, he may look at you and say, "Dang! That girl is hot! I need to ask her out!"
It's not you, it's the age thing so don't take it personally, k?

Take life slow you have lots of time. There will be a lot more boys that will be interesting to you. At this age you could lose a best friend if it does not work out.

If it doesnt work out with him you could end up stuffing up your friendship with the girl. Might be an idea to talk to the girlfriend first and get the low down and make sure she is ok with it.
Also you probally are too young to be thinkin about love, but this world is weird these days

He's too old for you.
Don't mess with your friends' brothers. That's a no-no.
Find someone else closer to your age.
No 16 year old is going to go out with a 13 year old girl.

The age is no problem for you, but is it a problem for him? Does he show any interest in you? Do you show him in any form that you like him? You have to show him in little ways that you like him. Do you two have anything in common? Try to figure out something's he likes and do them with him. Talk to him more, and just get to know him. If you get the nerve up, ask him out. Guys like it when girls as the out. Good luck.
