First and formost, back up your data.

Second make sure in bio that you have option selected to start from cdrom drive. Place your Windows 98 disk and restart the system, that was it will format the hard drive for you, and get rid of windows xp for you. Follow the portms to intall windows, and you should be fready to go

Why? Are you aware that Microsoft no longer supports Windows98 -- no upgrades, no fixes, nada.

You can uninstall WinXP or format, then install Win98 (if you have the CD) but I would advise against it.

If you have a problem with WinXP, post it here so we can help you or go to www.amazon.com and get a book or two. I buy used books here and save a lot of money.

For Windows98:

For WindowsXP:

I did it years ago, so it is possible. If I remember correctly you need to format the cdrive; as xp will not allow an older version. After that boot from the win98 cd, and install it. Have a good one!

PS remember to backup "my documents"

WINDOWS 98 BOOTS FROM A FLOPPY DISK, True you must format your drive (or i suggest buy a new one) so that you can go back to XP when you get disgusted with 98 by just plugging in the drive with xp on it.
