Historically? Intellectuals (burning library of Alexandria, etc)

Personally? Intellectuals (quotes by Robertson, Falwell. My parents)

Other christians "at least believe in God." Intellectuals may not!

I don't "fear" either. However, I do find amusing those who think they're intellectual non-believers. They seem to be mentally disturbed people who never quite grasp that it takes less time to commit an error than to demonstrate one; sort of like your question. But, then again, you're always ahead of schedule in that sense, huh? As for evidence based knowledge, you wouldn't be implying that silly myth called "evolution", would you? That issue has pretty much been laid to rest here in R&S. Now for faith. What of it? Sorry. An intangible concept not subject to scientific "measurement". Is this the basis of what you no doubt are trying to "intellectualize" about? Do us a favor. Go amuse yourself eslewhwere.

Christians only fear what the bible tells them to fear.

I suppose technically since the bible condemns independant thought and knowledge (check out Genesis for details), that christians would loathe intellectuals...... but as it happens, being so oblivious and idiotic themselves, they aren't much good at identifying intellectuals even face to face in order to hate or fear them.

Intellectuals are rather stupid. They think that the human intellect can think and solve all human problems. They often get lost in a labrynth of thought from which they cannot escape. Prone to suicide. rarely smile. It's not a bright idea to be an intellectual.

There is a small but highly vocal camp of conservative Christians that are fairly anti-intellectual. Unfortunately their caterwauling drowns out the more sensible liberal ones.

The weakness of the intellectual is usually pride and humility will alway`s overcome pride.

As a Christian intellectual, let me just say this about that.

Thank you.
