One or all of these solutions may help.
1. Use alternative lighting locations.
2. Use a polarizing filter on your lens.
3. Shoot at an angle where light source is not visible in the mirror.
4. Use dulling spray on the mirror.

Stand at an angle to it so that the light does not reflect back into the photo.

That will work with flash or with available light.

Use a tripod and turn off the flash and use a timer so that you can take your hand off the camera so it won't jiggle when the shutter clicks. Make sure you are getting as much light as you can in the room.

Don't stand in front of the mirror. Light travels in one direction and bounces off things in the inverse direction.

If standing in front it will bounce back straight at you.

If standing off to the side it will hit and bounce the other way.

Or don't use flash.

Use polarizing lens(means SLR or some improvision is needed)
Else remove bright lights in the background if possible. No flash is preferrable.
