Why do so many women seek out their "single" girflfriends for advice about relationships. Wouldn't it make much more sense if they were to get advice from married friends (those who have successful relationships)? I can tell from the way my g-friend acts that she has been chatting with one of her friends....she usually acts very unreasonable and stupid. However, when she has been chatting with the spouses of our married friends she is reall cool. What can I say to her to get her to see this?

What you are saying makes a lot of sense. I would talk to your girlfriend about this. Single people want people who are in relationships to be as miserable as they are. lol.

Pretty much exactly what you just said - say it to her. Of course you shouldn't insult her by saying she acts stupid lol but unreasonable is acceptable. Women, go to the friend that is there at the time or the one that wants to listen for that matter. Your girlfriend knows which friend wants to hear what about your relationship, and most likely the single one tells her stuff she wants to hear and the married one doesn't. Depends on the situation I would say. Your girlfriend probably dont want to hear what the married girl has to say because she knows it is right lol I happen to be married and I give advice all the time. But when my sister or friends do not want to hear what I have to say because they want to be hardheaded then they usually listen to thier other friends that have bad advice.

I would suggest that you just talk to her about it. She might get offended though because you are kind of telling her what friends to listen to but try not to offend her. LOL yes, I know it is tricky! lol Use some examples. Dont use examples from your relationship, use examples that the single girl did or said versus what the married girls say. Tell her you love her very much and you want to be able to talk about your fellings and that is how you feel. And of course it makes more sense to talk to someone that has a succesful relationship - but we as women want to hear certain things and most of the time the single girls agree's with her. Good luck!

Maybe her single friends see you for what you really are and give her advice based on this. They probably tell her she is making a huge mistake and she could do much better than a man who is so obviously sexist and a misogynist as well. If my daughter was dating you I would be so disappointed that she was wasting her life on someone with no insight and a narrow view of the world.

Its an assumption that someone still fresh in the game would have the best experience. What she should be doing is getting inside info from a friendly boy, they have the best insite to things.

Long story short, show her (by statistics if you have to) that her current approach isnt working and she needs to rethink it. Then suggest she goes about seeking advice from people who are working in a relationship.

dude just because the're single doesnt mean they always have been, and single people tend to know more about dating since the're the ones that are always out there doing it.
