10 mm is a significant overjet. Yes you should wear braces, and yes you can wear ceramic. The only thing is that the wires are also all nickle. You should talk to an orthodontist in your area, but I'm not sure what they will be able to do. Good luck!

Well your dentist will probably recommend you have braces fitted as your overjet is quite a bit bigger than 7mm, which is the minimum they are happy about fitting them on.
I also have a nickel allergy and had to have braces made when i was younger, i think they simply used another material to make them, sorry but i cant remember exactly what it was. Your only problem could be if they cost a bit more for using materials different to the norm. luckily for me, mine were paid for on the NHS at the time :-D
Good luck, just remember that there are people out there who have been through it, and even more simply, just ask your dentist.

maybe inquire about invisalign, there clear trays/braces, i have them at the moment and all going really well.
