is the packaged lunch meat or the meat sliced from from the deli in the grocery store better for you and why?

It depends on where you buy the product. In theory the meat purchased from you deli should be better. Some brands are healthier then others. Depending on if they use cereals, artificial flavorings, fillers, etc. or if its really "all meat"

Once the proteins of muscle meats have been broken (slicing the product) it begins to break down, very slowly, but still breaks down.
By purchasing your meats at the deli counter the slicing -at that moment - As apposed to it being sliced up to a month prior and "cryo-vac"ed.

Then again, if the deli doesn't use proper food handling procedure (overwraping, not using "puncture style" price tags) then you are MUCH safer buying pre-packaged!

Depends on what kind of lunch meat you're buying. Of course the deli meat is fresher. I do both, it just depends on how much time I want to spend in the deli line.

meat sliced in the deli for me. It seems less slimy when I take it out of packaging.

I'd go with sliced from the deli. That packaged stuff has more sodium and preservatives.
