two years ago i sprained my right foot. one of my ponies stepped on my foot and this continued to happen a couple times after this. I haven't been stepped on if awhile; but the pain in my foot is chronic now for the last couple months, i wake up and put pressure on my foot and it's so stiff that i can hardly bend it. When i sprained my foot 2 years ago they took X-Rays and found nothing but a sprain, so is it possible that i may have broken something and didn't know it and now it has healed wrong which is causing the pain?

yes....a friend of mine broke his foot 10 years ago and they put an ankle wrap around it and sent him home...it healed wrong and now he has the same symptoms it gets worse in the cold or when it will rain...the only option other than rebreaking it he was told is to deal with it...he is a bartender and on the days after he works it takes him 10 min just to get out of bed because it is so stiff....massage and antiinflamitory pills seem to help some..good luck and try to take good care of your foot(baby it forever) because as you can see abuse of it will just make it get worse and worse

It is possible that since you have re-injured it several times since the initial injury that you have a hairline fracture. I have a hairline fracture in my right ankle from spraining it so many times over and over and as a result have chronic pain and stiffness in it. If I spend too much time standing on it, it will swell up and hurt. I also have arthritis in it as a result. Having your doctor do another xray or an MRI will determine if you have a hairline fracture. And unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about it.

Good luck and I hope you find out whats wrong.

Please see a podiatry (foot) Physician. You really have todo this to get to the bottom of your situation. Go to another if you have gained no help. A regular doctor has little to no experience with feet, I once had a toe problem and my good dr. barely looked at it and shook her head, I'm not sure. Then my foot dr. got right to the nip of the situation. good luck--don't wait!
