Can you overcharge rechargeable batteries? I use a recharger for electronics like my computer mouse, etc. so when the batteries die, I swap them out with the batteries in the charger. But, it only takes a few hours for the dead batteries to charge, and weeks for the charged batteries to die. So, I am leaving fully charged batteries in the charger for several weeks before changing them out. Is this okay, and if not, will they lose their charge if they are taken out of the charger but not used for several weeks?

It depends on the charger. Most of the new ones have "over-charge" protection. Do the batteries stay HOT (warm) after they are fully charged? If not, then they should be safe to leave in the charger. And yes, the batteries will drain if you take them out, even if you don't use them, but at a much reduced rate. If you leave them in the charger, they will "recharge" if they fall below a certain level.

if u will leave it for charging for only 1 day they will not be usable because over charging will heat them up and it can also resut the cell to burst.
