My sweetheart has a large white stuffed plush bear that has gotten dirty (general dirt, dust, grime)... what would be the best / safest means of cleaning it ?

Thanks for your input !!

So far, all reasonable responses (less one) !! Dry-cleaning sounds safest, but most expensive... the Cornstarch is the most innovative... the pillow-case sounds simplest. I'll give it a few more days... THANKS !

Sprinkle it with cornstarch. Use an old toothbrush to brush the cornstarch into the grimy areas. Let sit for a few hours or overnite. Then shake it off or use a vacuum to remove the powder. Can be used repeatedly until it is clean. Will also remove any odors. Lots of luck!

I put my kids stuffed toys in the washer, but I will tie them up in a pillow case before so the agitator won't tear up the toy. Then just let it air dry. If it's stiff, you can throw it in the dryer for a few minutes to fluff it up.

i know this sounds obvious but put in in a delicate wash in the machine. then let it dry naturally. its worked for all my sons teddys and stuffed toys. just make sure you dont put it in the tumble dryer!
